Seems like there’s no reason to introduce black on the nose…which means there probably IS some sneaky reason. I’ll bet it visually reinforces what you think happens to the airflow around it, and I’ll bet what REALLY happens is something else. They’re using it to hide something that’s right there out in the open.
Just a theory. It seems suspicious, doesn’t it?
