Jean-Eric Vergne, Toro Rosso, Sepang International Circuit, 2014Formula One paid its respects to those who are believed to have lost their lives in the recent loss of a Malaysian Airlines plane in the Indian Ocean.

Drivers’ helmets bore messages of support for the victims and their families, and a one minute’s silence was observed before the start of the race.

  1. “They like to kick a guy when he’s down. And then run over him with the Safety Car.” – brilliant!

  2. Quite a weekend in Tweets. Some really nice ones from drivers, and from Keith, as well as ex-drivers/junior drivers.

Oh, and its clear that Lotus need their humour to keep a good atmosphere in the garage!

  3. @keithcollantine – That last one is an absolute cracker! How on earth did I miss that?!

Meanwhile, do we think this is genuine, or Lewis messing around?

Funny chat with @LewisHamilton. Asked him how much he’d held back given how good his fuel rate was.

“WHAT? You guys can see that? Oh man”

    1. Maybe they didn’t tell him about the hud

  4. Loved your “current qualifying standings” tweet . LOL

    1. Who is MAY? or I just can’t get the joke.

      1. @omarr-pepper Bernad Maylander, Safety Car driver.

Not Top Gear presenter James May, as someone on Twitter thought I was referring to!

        1. @keithcollantine It would make sense either way. *Captain slow*
