Ten of the best pictures which tell the story of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.

Jenson Button, Wednesday

Jenson Button begins the first of many Monaco media interviews.

Fernando Alonso, Thursday

A marshal looks on as Fernando Alonso passes by during the rain-hit second practice session. Alonso topped the times in the damp conditions and produced a superb performance during qualifying to take fifth on the grid.

Sebastian Vettel, Friday

“Never give up,” Sebastian Vettel’s fans urge the world champion. Ahead of another trying weekend which was hampered by technical problems during qualifying and the race, it was certainly what he needed to hear.

Sergio Perez, Saturday

Sergio Perez was in fine form in Monaco as usual, skimming close to the barriers during qualifying on his way to Q3. Unfortunately the Force India driver was taken out on the first lap.

Adrian Sutil, Saturday

Adrian Sutil rounds the tightest corner on the Forula One calendar, his front-left wheel hanging in the air.

Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Daniel Ricciardo, Saturday

Lewis Hamilton’s expression makes it clear what he though of the controversial manner in which Nico Rosberg took pole position.

Nina Peterson, Marcus Ericsson, Sunday

Marcus Ericsson wore a special helmet in tribute to fellow Orebro native Ronnie Peterson, who won the Monaco Grand Prix 40 years ago. Nina Peterson also supplied her father’s original helmet bag for him to use.

Start, Monaco Grand Prix

While the Mercedes drivers disappeared off as usual, Daniel Ricciardo was swamped by the fast-starting Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen. But both were doomed to lose the advantage they gained within the first few metres of the start.

Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton, Monaco Grand Prix

Hamilton chased Rosberg around every millimetre of Monaco but couldn’t find a way around his team mate, who won the race for the second year in a row. Hamilton later dropped back, suffering from an eye problem.

Jules Bianchi, Monaco Grand Prix

There was jubilation for Marussia as Jules Bianchi claimed the team’s first-ever points by finishing eighth on the road, which became ninth after a penalty.

  1. This is the best Top ten of any race I’ve seen so far on F1Fanatic. Great job Keith!! Lovely!

  2. That photo of marshal and Alonso looks as bull and matador.

    1. Clever observation!

  3. Lovely pictures from Monaco as always! The Sutil one I particularly like.

  4. Nina Peterson really resembles her father. Such a shame that she never really got to know him.

  5. The Sutil picture is stunning!!

Does that happen with every car at the Fairmont hairpin?

    1. Yes according to Martin Brundle, the front suspension travel is smaller than the drop in gradient and camber of the road

It also happens at the hairpin in Montreal. You can see it on Vettel’s pole in 2012

  6. It was actually Eje Elgh (Swedish racer, now F1 commentator, who used to live with Ronnie “back in the day”) that supplied the bag. This according to himself in the “pre-race” talk up in Swedish TV.

  7. That Perez picture is truly ridiculous…

    1. I do love how the Marshals just stand around nonchalantly while F1 cars pass by millimeters from the barrier next to them

  8. wow look at Perez.. stunning, you keep squeezing the gap and i dont think it can get any less on a hotlap.

  9. I like the Marussia picture.
