As if enough cold water hadn’t fallen on Saturday at Spa-Francorchamps, the paddock inhabitants added to the downpour as the Ice Bucket Challenge gathered pace.

Third practice

The track was hit with heavy rain 40 minutes before Q1.


In his first Formula One qualifying session, Andre Lotterer outqualified team mate Marcus Ericsson by almost a full second.

Kevin Magnussen took seventh on the grid, his father watching from the USA.

Support races

The GP2 race was red-flagged as the track was too wet to run. After the restart a McLaren junior driver battled with a Ferrari youngster for the victory, with the latter coming out on top.

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Some of Formula One’s seniour figures took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge today, raising awareness for Motor Neurone Disease/Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

  2. Di Grassi couldn’t be more aggressive!

      1. Di Grassi wasn’t a pay driver. He graduated into F1 via GP2 & testing for F1 teams.

        I think he bought some money, but nothing significant.
