Marussia statement on Bianchi’s condition

At the request of the family of Jules Bianchi, and in conjunction with the Mie General Medical Center in Yokkaichi, the Marussia F1 Team is able to provide the following information regarding Jules’ medical condition.

The past nine days have been extremely difficult for Jules and his family. As a consequence of the accident at Suzuka, a number of medical challenges have needed to be overcome and the situation remains challenging due to the diffuse axonal traumatic brain injury Jules has sustained.

Jules remains in a critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit of Mie General Medical Center in Yokkaichi. The Bianchi family continue to be comforted by the thoughts and prayers of Jules’ many fans and the motor sport community. In particular, the many demonstrations of support and affection during the course of the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi were of enormous comfort to Jules’ parents and the relatives and friends also present at the hospital.

The family will provide further medical updates when appropriate.

    Nothing new then.

  3. Keep fighting Jules, everyone is behind you.

  4. Jules is in my thoughts every morning when I wake up. I hope for the best for him and I hope he can at least recover sufficiently to live a reasonably normal life. Keep fighting Jules.

  5. I have enormous respect for Jules’ parents, who find time and strength to share these updates with the world during the most difficult time of their lives. I believe it is the right thing to do as it leaves less room for unnecessary speculations.

    Keep fighting Jules.

      +1 nice comment mate!!

  6. I couldn’t imagine the kind of terrible limbo his parents are stuck in so far from home. My sympathies for them, they’re in my thoughts daily. I hope Jules can recover whatever the odds against him.

  7. I can really relate and sympathize with Jules’ parents, family and loved ones. They are showing a lot of dignity and class in what is likely the most traumatic situation in their lives. Situations like this graphically illustrate what is most important in life, and what is not. I have been in a similar situation and my heart goes out to them.

Human kindness is priceless and sometimes it is all we have to give. It does make a big difference for those in need and those giving it too.

A window into my world. My wife was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor about 2 1/2 years ago. Subsequent brain surgery, radiation and chemo kept what was a terminal illness somewhat in check for almost two years. She was left paralyzed on one side and her quality of life taken away one step at a time. Instead of enjoying watching her laugh, sing and dance, she needed help with everything. I was her caregiver, nurse, physical therapist, everything and anything she needed. She would have done the same for me. We lost everything we had financially. I would do it all over again. She was well cared for and we did everything we could for her. She passed away seven months ago from the cancer. We would have been married thirty two years this last September. I miss her greatly, but I’m grateful she is no longer suffering.

Along this journey we had so many good people help us. The kindness from family, friends and strangers sustained us when things appeared hopeless. People helped us spiritually, financially and in any way they could. I will never forget what they did for us. Now I’m in the process of rebuilding my life and trying to find ways to recycle the kindness given to me. That’s why I share my story, to let people know how much difference simple acts of kindness can make. Especially when that is all we can give.

I’m sure Jules’ parents and family feel the support, love and prayers being sent their way for Jules. We don’t know the outcome, but whatever it may be, they do know they have our kindness. I’m sure we all wish we could do more.

Continued prayers for Jules and his family. #ForzaJules

    Sincerely,
    Chris

A good read from Dr. Gary Hartstein.

“This is about people. Jules’ family. And their humanity and dignity are staggering.”

    2. It helps to look at the positive, you had 30 years together…. Jules made it to F1….. we all die, but its what we do while we are here that counts.

      1. Alex, that is so true. We had something I’ve seen others look for their whole lives. I am grateful.

    3. I cannot imagine how you, @bullmello, or Jules Bianchi’s family can be strong enough to deal with such tragedy. It is very admirable and I can only offer my positive wishes.

      1. @arki19 – Thank you. All you can do is go on the best you can. Now I must help our daughter find her way in life.

    4. Chris mate, I’m a pretty stone hearted piece of work but that is a pretty touching story man. The utmost respect goes out to you.

      1. Thank you for the kind words, Don. My life is somewhat upside down right now, but I’m a survivor.

  8. Keep fighting Jules. The entire F1 world and all of its fans are behind you.

  9. @bullmello, I don’t normally comment on any forum but your story is so touching to me… Having suffered from depression previously (and still having shaky mental health), human suffering is sensitive to me.

I am so sorry for what happened to your wife :( It is probably of no comfort to you, but at least she is no longer suffering. And she died having a loving husband by her side. May she rest in peace… She still lives on in her beautiful daughter, and I’m sure you are a great Dad to her :)

    #ForzaJules Please get better soon

    1. Thanks, Matthew. I like to think I’ve been a fairly compassionate person throughout my life, but I know I’m more keenly aware of others suffering and needs now. Thank you for your kind words, it means a lot to me.

  10. Young and upcoming Star! No challenge too big or small for you! Get Well Soon!! God Speed

    Forza Jules
