  1. It seems a shame that despite most discussions I’ve seen on the site over the years being against the move of F1 to pay TV that this site has now joined the dark side in wanting to profit from the move through it’s prominent Now TV advert within the main article. I know it will be justified as either keeping users informed or a commercial decision (if you can’t beat them join them?) but it all adds to the slide towards free-to-air coverage being a thing of the past.

I hope it won’t be the case here but on other sites where they start having other commercial interests it inevitably leads to a less impartial slant to the reporting as sponsors etc don’t want to have their products questioned.

    1. Now TV advert? Sorry, you’ve lost me. Never seen it. I am a paying contributor though so maybe that’s why…

While I’m sure that makes you a superior human being to myself, it doesn’t actually relate to the point but thanks anyway

    2. I can’t blame Keith, I’m getting his content for free and he did a good job of making the ads relatively unobtrusive.

Like has been said above: if you don’t want to see ads, become a F1 fanatic contributor.

    3. it seems unlikely that keith has that much control over what ads appear on the site. a lot of it is dependent on your own browsing history (thanks for watching over us google…..)

I can’t agree Wonderbadger, by offering the NowTV link, the site is providing F1Fanatics with an easy way to access the cheapest deal to watch the race live in the UK this weekend (legally) and is thus providing a service from which both the site and the community benefit.

  2. Does anyone know if Channel 4 will be offering 2-10 minute highlights of all the sessions like the BBC did on their website?
