  1. Fantastic drive from perez and rosberg. They made hamilton who whinned about how easy the track is compared to other street circuits look cute. Anyway is this rosberg’s 2nd grand chelem?

    1. Only Grand Slam, is it not?

Chelem is only if he dominated FP1-3, as well, I thought.

      1. FP has nothing to do with it, pole, win, flap and lead every lap.

      2. Looking at two online dictionaries, it looks like the meanings are synonymous: they both mean a driver had pole position, lead every lap of the race, and obtained the fastest lap.
Rosberg is one of only 24 drivers who have achieved this feat. He is also one of only 5 F1 drivers who have got two Grand Slams. There are only 8 drivers who have got more than two Grand Slams, Sebastian Vettel is the only current driver with more than two, he has 4 (2011 Indian Grand Prix, 2012 Japanese Grand Prix, 2013 Singapore Grand Prix, 2013 Korean Grand Prix).

        1. I think Sebastian Vettel also is one of the rare drivers who’s gotten consecutive grand slams.

          1. Oh yes, you are right. Quoting from f1.wikia, “Only three drivers achieved a Grand Chelem at consecutive races: Alberto Ascari (1952 German Grand Prix and 1952 Dutch Grand Prix), Jim Clark (1963 Dutch Grand Prix and 1963 French Grand Prix) and Sebastian Vettel (2013 Singapore Grand Prix and 2013 Korean Grand Prix).”
Also, I didn’t specifically say it in my post above, but the Grand Slam or Grand Chelem includes winning the race.

  2. Poor Hamilton…

    Always whinning…

    1. Damn good reason too. Imagine your sitting in what should be the fastest car on the track and your engineer knows what’s wrong with it but won’t tell you.

I’m amazed Lewis’ kept his cool.

You are among the more reasonable contributors to this site @mike.

  3. Impressive drive by Perez

    1. Indeed – DOTW for me.

      1. P2 should have been his if not the fp3 crash, definitely driver of the weekend.

  4. I have always been a big fan of Nico Hulkenberg and him deserving a top drive, but you have to wonder why he hasn’t made more of the Force India package considering what Perez has achieved. Hulk is being left in the shade in my opinion by Perez.

Well, if you are talking about this race, he made a mistake in qualifying and then he was hit in the first turn. That’s all she wrote, basically.

  5. Any news on Massa, Raikkonen and Button retiring from the sport yet? Imagine getting competitive replacements with potential…. Lots waiting on a seat..
