  1. Ugh, why are Lindsey and Venus in the team shot. I guess I should be happy it wasn’t Justin Bieber.

    1. +1! Or at least, be discreet about it, like Christoph Waltz

    2. I’m sure they were asked to be in it. I doubt they just put themselves there.

      1. I’m not upset with Lindsey or Venus, and there are places for celebrities in F1. But they didn’t do anything to earn those trophies, and it detracts from all the hard work done by everyone else in that picture.

        1. I completely agree, I’m just saying it was probably the team or someone from it (I’m guessing HAM) that put them in the pic.

    3. and gordon ramsy and the rest of the “slebs”

  2. The correct catchphrase is ‘Red Bull gives you wiings’. two i’s. Nice to see a custom helmet design. Hope the FIA don’t give him a grid penalty for having fun.

Pathetic. Oh look…there are celebrities in the audience, this must be an exciting sport! (camera pans to celebrity when there is finally action on the track after 15 minutes of parade racing) Uhhggghhh!

  4. I seldom know who the ‘celebs’ are, even once their name is captioned, so I definitely don’t care.

  5. Great helmet for Ric, will he get a fine though? He used his one off custom (and frankly stunning) design at Monaco?

  6. The difference between certain ‘celebs’ attending is striking. After one of the practice sessions they bumped into a surfer (can’t recall his name as I’m not a fan of the sport, but presumably he’s noteworthy) and proceeded with an impromptu interview where he detailed his genuine interest in F1, his extensive car collection (some genuine classics as well, not ‘I’m rich so I own a Ferrari California), and the prospect of a Grand Prix up the side of a volcano in Hawaii. Top marks. Compare this to Brundle trying to get blood from a stone on the grid with V. Williams prior to the race, he was no doubt looking for some inane 10 second ‘go Lewis’ remark from her but she completely ignored him despite clearly being able to hear his question, standing as she was less than an arm’s length away. So, so arrogant. It’s not as if she’s a paying punter, simply a know-nothing (with regards to motor racing, at least) ‘star’ given free admittance as a guest of Mercedes. Surely a bit of enthusiasm for the event and the people whose work generates the interest in it that allows her to be there for free is to be expected at the very least.
