All the cars are paired up pretty much. Only outnliners are Alonso (penalties), Palmer and Rosberg

Out of 11 teams, 9 have their drivers directly following each other on the grid. Seems like quite a high quota, anyone has historic stats on this?

Singapore 2011 had 9 teammates together as well. First five and last three rows were shared by one team.
Only Alonso’s penalty and Palmer not being on Magnussen’s pace have prevented us from a perfect Noah’s Ark grid today!

Shows how good most drivers truly are, as all (except Palmer) is driving their car to the car’s absolute best quali time. And subsequently, showing how dominant the performance of the car is, in dictating where that driver ends up on the grid and in the WDC ranking.

Rosberg makes a mess of the last corner and still gets 2nd, I’m getting tired of Mercedes dominance.

The Red Bull and Ferrari long run pace looked good in practise, hopefully they can get ahead of the Mercedes which is relatively poor in turbulent air, and keep them behind, for another non Mercedes winner (preferably Ricciardo)

Yeah but it seems it’s going to be a bright sunny day tomorrow….. I don’t see the Ferrari’s or RedBull’s beating Merc’s on merit in the dry.

It’s another “x race pace looked pretty good in practice, but Mercedes still wins an easy 1-2” episode
