  1. Friday first prac session end has a typo 14:30

  2. Didn’t realise FP1 has been extended to 11 and a half hours long! Think there’s a typo there

Ridiculous sick of getting highlights from channel 4, At least with all the other stations we got the first live along with a few others, now it’s all gone to pot get a grip of who is going to show us the grand prix, Disgusted.

Channel 4 have a different line up of races that get covered live each year. As the deal with sky was only to show 50% of them live, don’t you think they may as well show the ones that will get more views? Such as the ones that are during day time hours. To me, that makes perfect sense.

      1. don’t you think they may as well show the ones that will get more views?

I completely agree, thought about that for the Australian GP. Although it’s annoying, it makes perfect sense.

    2. Get used to it, soon it’ll be no live races, no highlights.. weening myself off F1, I aint paying Murdoch and his cronies any more wedge.

BTCC this year looks VERY good however, much more interesting than no overtaking, processional F1.

    3. Before you Brits complain, have pity on the U.S. fans: all but 2 of the races are on cable only AND they have commercials during the race that take away almost 1/3 of the race time! Plus second rate commentators that are watching the race in the studio! It’s a sad presentation and it’s one of the main reason why F1 is so slow to gain fans in the U.S.

Whether Liberty Media make the needed moves to dump NBCSports and make the Sky TV broadcasts available to fans in the U.S. (ex. via NowTV or something similar) will the test to whether or not they’re serious about the U.S. market.

Note: yes of course I know all of the many ways to see the Sky TV and Channel 4 broadcasts live or download them later but most folks don’t know how or won’t do that.

  4. The inconsistency with which races are shown on channel 4 means I will probably watch very few live this year. if they simply alternated that would probably be easier to follow. given that i frequent this site (and others) daily and have followed every season since 1995 i can hardly be described as a casual fan.

It’s a real shame because their on-demand website is awful. bbc iplayer was excellent for watching GPs – it’s making me depressed just thinking about how/why they lost the coverage. i realise everything is driven by money and the bottom line is in fact the only line, but it’s still really depressing. it’s just so shortsighted.

    1. iPlayer was great, if I arrived home from work and had missed the start I could just watch it time shifted. Channel 4 doesn’t even have it available straight after the race has finished, you’re waiting hours for it.

  5. I hate Sky. Pathetic company owned by Rupert Murdoch. All they want is to rob the public of their money. Put F1 back where it really belongs, on free-to-air TV. I’ll stick to watching streams until it changes.
