  1. Not a terribly difficult choice for me, Rosberg on pole with a 1:34.000.

    1. Hamilton did 27 laps on a set of mediums which points to a two-stopper which in theory is faster. He was also better on lap times than Rosberg on the softs so I will go Rosberg pole and Hamilton to win. On any other day I would have gone for Alonso to win but I think he is going to become too anxious with the pressure coming from Massa and he will make errors.
      Pole – Rosberg
      1. Hamilton
      2. Massa
      3. Rosberg
      4. Webber
      5 Alonso

  2. I say Kimi on Pole.

    1. he got close enough alright, but not quite!

Vettel sandbagging, so I got pole on him 1:33:847
    Alonso for the win
    Hamilton 2nd
    Kimi 3rd
    Massa 4th
    Button 5th
    Vettel DNF with Rosberg
I might change it after FP 3

  4. After FP2, it’s quite tricky! I think Rosberg might repeat his pole of 2012, but I’m actually favouring Massa for the win currently and I expect Vettel to start second and convert that into third, with Rosberg losing a place. I’ve then just plugged for Alonso then Hamilton, but Webber had a good showing and looked good on the long runs so he should be in there too!

Hopefully FP3 makes my decision a bit easier!

    1. You are a bit optimistic with Massa there! Rosberg/Hamilton would still be a decent bet for pole/win respectively. Although as always Vettel may just tighten the screws in FP3

      1. @sankalp88 you never know! He has looked really quick so far and has had the measure of Alonso: Rob Smedley pretty much summarised how he was performing on the team radio in FP2! I will probably make amends in time for qualifying though ;)

        1. @vettel1

Too much is being read into that message. Massa’s lap times were good, but neither consistent nor spectacular, especially when you compare them to Webber’s as can be seen from Keith’s chart. But yeah, let’s wait for FP3

  5. Looks like I am not alone in thinking that Nico Rosberg could take pole position. I think that either Rosberg or Massa will end up winning the race… but you can never rule out a great race from Red Bull. We shall see.

  6. I’ll admit it, I don’t have the foggiest. (Other than that the race will be governed by tyre management and pit stop strategy)

This could be one of those races where grid position is meaningless and the drivers who start on the fourth row on the medium rubber will be at a decided advantage over those ahead of them on the softs. I wonder if we’ll see some of the Ferrari, Red Bull, Lotus or Mercedes drivers take that strategy rather than competing for pole position?

  7. Massa for pole and win. He’s looking the strongest right now, so I’ll take a gamble!

  8. Had to predict something if I don’t make it awake.
    pole: ros
    race: ros,ham,mas,alo,vet
    Go merc.

  9. I predict another Red Bull stoush…
