Yvan Muller gave Seat a historic win for its diesel-powered Leon at only the second outing for the car. He passed team mate Gabriele Tarquini early in the race after a restart following two crashes on the first lap.
Fabrizio Giovanardi continued hit back from his Donington disappointment at Snetterton, winning the second of the day’s races. But championship leader Jason Plato kept the Italian in his sights, finishing third behind Matt Neal who impressively charge from 18th on the grid to finish on the podium.
