Other racing series

Separate list for GP2, IndyCar and World Touring Car Championship teams and drivers can be found here:

If you follow series other than Formula 1 remember to join the dedicated F1 Fanatic groups and forums for each of them.

How to get started on Twitter

You can get your free Twitter account at www.twitter.com. You can then follow the growing number of F1 drivers, teams and other personalities on Twitter.

If you’ve found a real F1 or other motor racing person or team on Twitter, please post details in the comments and I’ll add them to the list.

Are they real?

There are many fake F1 Twitter accounts. Here is a list of several prominent false accounts identified previously. As of the end of 2015 no authentic Twitter accounts exist for Sebastian Vettel or Kimi Raikkonen – those claiming to be are all fake.

If you’ve found a real F1 or other motor racing person or team on Twitter, please post details in the comments and I’ll add them to the list.

  1. New F1 driver added

Nico Rosberg is now on the list:

    http://twitter.com/NicoRosberg16

The account appears to have been started for the purposes of running a competition, but hopefully we’ll start to see some proper Tweets from Rosberg himself too.

I follow that NicoRosberg16 as well but thought this is done by Philips Brasil for the upcoming GP only.

      Further I follow http://twitter.com/Mansell5

which I did not see in your directory.

      1. They’ve done a few non-competition related Tweets, let’s see if they do any proper Twitter stuff once the content is over.

I’ve had a look at the Mansell one before but I haven’t seen any indication it’s genuine. Have you?

I don’t know either if the Mansell one is genuine, their haven’t been any tweets since August but it has a lot of followers

  2. What about @Kimi_Raikkonen (http://twitter.com/Kimi_Raikkonen)? Is it real? He’s got 12,166 subscribers including Nico Rosberg.

    1. I’ve had a look and I can’t see any indication it’s real.

  3. Twitter is ideal for Mansell and Raikkonen – at least you don’t have to listen to them…

Usually worth a listen, in my opinion, is@MauriceHamilton – have you come across him yet?

    1. Thanks, added him!

  4. Hi there,

just to say that the Ivan Capelli you placed isn’t the real one. It’s actually a Brazilian journalist, ho happens to have the same name…

    Quite a coincidence, hen?

    1. And he uses an avatar that looks like Capelli in the Leyton House!

Oh well, I’ll strike him from the list.

    Ben Spies – @BenSpies11
    Bradley Smith (125cc) – @BradleySmith38

    1. Sort of related: Mike Conway. Seems legit, he has interacted with Tomas Scheckter. Worth an add?

      http://twitter.com/mikeconway24

      1. Thanks Spiffy have added it.

  7. Non-F1 racing drivers

    Indy
    Ana Beatriz Bia

    1. Added, thanks!

    Robert Kubica: @fakeRobKubica

    Martin Brundle: @fakeMartinB (funny!)
    Eddie Jordan: @fakeEJ
    David Coulthard: @fakeDC
    Flavio: @fakeflav

    Funny, but I think fake:
    @FakeAlonso
    @fakeschumacher

    Cheers from Holland,
    Jeroen

  9. ex Ensign F1 driver, ex Top Gear presenter, ex 5th Gear presenter – Tiff Needell

Not verified as yet but I’ve been following for a while and seems reasonable that it realy is him, whadayathink?

  10. Epic fail on last post, lets try again

    http://twitter.com/tiff_tv

    1. Thanks Damian, added.

  11. Toby Fernandes :L

  12. You know the driver accounts that start with the word ‘fake’, they are… FAKE! They don’t pretend to be real and are often pretty funny.

  13. Martin Whitmarsh seems to have started tweeting too, his photo is classic!

    http://twitter.com/fakewhitmarsh

  14. Hi here’s a driver you could add to your directory. 2003 Le Mans winner Guy Smith @GUYSMITH16 Now driving with Dyson Racing In the ALMS.

  15. A few IRL teams and drivers you don’t have listed are on Twitter as well. I think you could actually make a seperate IRL listing because almost every driver on the grid uses Twitter…I’ll only post the most interesting ones though.

    1. Fixed, thanks.
