    The new points system will award points down to 15th position, in the sequence 20-17-15-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1.

    This makes sense due to the increased number of entries we saw this year, which will hopefully be maintained for 2012.

    Gives the independents a chance to grab some actual points too, rather than their final placings being decided by finishing positions.

    It makes sense while the grid is almost at maximum capacity but what happens if the numbers drop in the future?
