F1 Fanatic

At the start of the video @prisoner-monkeys posted you can see a guy standing on the left filming the car with his phone.

This appears to be the footage he shot, and gives another good impression of how the car goes from electric-only mode (as F1 cars will have to do in the pits from 2014) to V8 power:

I’m really excited about this team, they all say Toyota is a boring brand, but when the F1 team pulled out the Toyota executive guy that announced it was is tears, that shows there is a passion in their motorsport: bring it on!

The new TS030 car looks (and sounds) good too!

@keithcollantine – I have heard a rumour that Peugeot discreetly sold some customer 908 chassis two days before they shut the works programme down, but I can’t verify it. I do know that they have said it is a temporary thing, and that they expect they will be back in sports car racing as early as 2014. Although even if they do re-join the sport (and both Toyota and Audi stay), I expect that the TS030, R18 and 908 will all be out-dated by then. In which case we would likely get three new models.

I have to say that rolling start-up sounds awesome, if the electric motors are always that noisy I guess we dont have to worry about photographers getting run over either.

I literally laughed out loud when I listened to that video of the car taking off in the pits. It sounds exactly like a giant version of the electric RC cars I used to race! XD I don’t mind it, but the similarity is just amusing.

They have also noticeably changed the lights (for the better IMO) since launch.
