@enigma ah, right, I get what you mean. maybe a tick box to choose/add own posts/+friends+mentions+favourites or something like that.

@bascb yep, the more custom the better.

I don’t know if this has come up, but it would be nice to see how many pages of comments there are at the top of the comments section as well, not just a the bottom.

@KaIIe That was present on the site before and was overlooked during the development work. It should be a very simple thing to add back in and I intend to put it back in the next package of fixes.

Dunno if this has been mentioned but on the “Groups” label to the right, it should link to a complete list of groups on the site.

    And another thing, in the
    Groups Directory
, maybe the groups could be grouped further again so that there is a single page, e.g all the “Going to the….” grouped so they aren’t taking over the page

I agree about the Report button being a bit too big!

Another nice feature would be somehow if when you direct reply to a comment, it automatically puts in the @username. Along these lines, a direct reply button in the forums could also be done, similar to the way it used to be possible on facebook (though your comment would still go to the bottom of the pile, or it’d be messy)

@Stretch Thanks for the ideas. On the second one, there is a drop-down filter menu so you can select the most recently active groups, etc…

@damonsmedley, @fer-no65 Yes I agree the ‘forums’ page is a bit cluttered, have some ideas on how to tidy it up.

Damon you should see the ‘page refresh when replying’ problem was fixed a few days ago. As for viewing images in sequence, you can do this after clicking on an image to preview it, see here for example.

@Icthyes Bit of a tricky one to do, especially as you can only @-reply to registered members. But I do agree this area has potential for improvement, particularly in terms of making it more obvious what a person’s username is (you can tell by hovering over their name and reading the URL but that’s hardly intuitive!)

@Enigma, @Younger-hamii Yep there is a lot of other stuff we could add in the profiles but I want to take the time to get it right and not miss any opportunities to do it better.

@andrewtanner F1 Fanatic’s Google+ presence isn’t very good at the moment so I’m not promoting it heavily. ‘Most comments’ will be back in some form later.

I’m not sure if it’s been implemented/suggested, but could we possibly get a way to search for groups based on the actual group? I’m currently trying to find a group for miscellaneous racing series (I’m sure I saw one), but I can’t sort forum topics by group.

@keithcollantine Thanks for getting back to me on that. I noticed the page refresh issue was fixed a few days ago, but it wasn’t at the time of me writing my post. :)

I know about the picture viewer, but I was wondering if it was possible to do something more like on formula1.com. It’s just every picture is on a different page that needs to be loaded. I understand this may not be easy to implement, but it would make photo viewing a lot more enjoyable and prevent me from having countless tabs open!

Would it be possible to incorporate birthdays in the profiles so we can find out when people birthhdays are just by looking at their profile. It would probably make you life easier too Keith when finding birthdays for the roundup :)

I’m also confused about the lack of a linkback to the comment from the “activities/mentions” page. While it’s nice to be able to see that someone has replied to your post, when you have to go back to the article, try and remember what page you commented on, dig out the comment, and then reply, it really loses any usefulness.

I’m not sure what you mean by the fact that this was tested and found to be “confusing” that comments are appearing on different parts of the site. The comments are still appearing on different parts of the site, they’re just not linked in any way! Or am I misunderstanding you here?

I’d suggest stealing the notation from Twitter – Keith Collantine (@keithcollantine); Icthyes (@Icthyes) – and then the notation is right there in the open.

Also I just noticed the forum doesn’t have any guide/notes as to what HTML tags can be used.

@KaIIe This has now been done.

@prisoner-monkeys Not sure if this answers you question, but you can search on articles, forums, groups and member profiles via the search box at the top-right of the page. I’ve just corrected a fault in this where it wasn’t searching the forums correctly. I’d be surprised if you can’t find what you’re looking for through that, but if it’s not working please give me an example of what you’re trying to do and I’ll see.

@hairs If you click the time the comment/post was made then it takes you back to it.
