In order to prevent abuse and sending of spam via the private messaging system, as of now users can only send private messages to other users who have previously accepted them as friends.

My account is excluded from this – anyone can send private messages to me.

I’ve actually found that private messages are much better here than on many other sites. Well done for safeguarding against future problems though.

Could I request that forum moderators also be excepted from this? I’ve dealt with forum issues by private message on a few occasions where doing so publicly would not have been appropriate, and I wouldn’t want to lose that option.

Mind you, I haven’t done much moderating lately, because real life has been getting in the way. Things should be back to normal soon :)
