F1 Fanatic

My worst race ever, Sauber 1-2 after turn 1 then I hit Ollie and crashed soon after :( Sorry guys.

Quali: 1:08.8 Good lap not much to say

Race: Take 1 Good Start led up to T4 where i got T-Boned by Alfie and loss my front wing :-/ Trawled back to pits when Alfie crashed out early -_- Not happy at all. Tea then DSC and we threw a 30% restart

Take 2: After we settled out what was gonna happen Ben left, unaware we were gonna restarted, So it left the grid as

1.Tea
2.Tom
3. Aimal
4. Moi

After the rolling start, i took Aimal after T3 and went after Tom who i passed into tabac after a switchback at the Chicane.

After that my gears whouldnt change down so i was left to hold up Tom and let Tea get away, who set the FLAP on a 01:11.467, Tea made…various errors, which let Me and Tom dual to the end as i soaked up 15 laps of pressure, only for the penultimate corner…

I went deep coming out of Swimming Pool and Tom was on my outside, however i think we touched which set me edging into the barrier and let Tom undercut me to take the victory :(

DOTD: Not sure, whould of been on Tea, not for the mistakes. Tom gave me good pressure, but didnt really make and impression on my driving (until the touch) and Aimal did a solid but on spectactuall job as well

Well, Tea didnt mess up. She got disconnect, which im sure will happen to you one day and you will want a restart. Then directly afterwards you went on F1 2012 demo, so u had time to race…

Quali: Had to get used to the physics on this game on my outlap since I’d been playing GT5 and the F1 2012 demo and not practicing. This showed in my lap time as I only managed a 1:12.7xx. This left me 3rd with Alfie yet to run. I went out again and manged to improve by 7 tenths, but it wasn’t enough to stop Alfie taking 3rd off of me. Ollie was on pole with Ben 2nd, they were both on options however.

Race: Ben got a bad get-away which meant I got held up going into T1, this let Aimal past me. At the beginning of sector 2 Ollie was pointing the wrong way, I was unlucky and had to let Téa through to get past Ollie safely. Despite loosing places I was pleased not to have made contact with anyone. Alfie crashed out on lap 2 I think and Téa got past Aimal at some point, I also got past Aimal (I think on lap 3?) after he made a mistake and grazed the wall. I tried to catch Téa but made little to no impression on the gap that had formed whilst I was stuck behind Aimal. The race was restarted when Téa disconnected and I was 2nd going into the restart (since Ben had left). Ollie got past Aimal fairly quickly and both Téa and I made mistakes coming out of the tunnel and unfortunately for me Ollie was able to capitalise on my mistake and overtake me on the inside (best move I’ve ever seen on an F1 game by the way). After that Ollie’s pace seemed to lower, though apparently this was due to a gearing issue. I couldn’t get past since I seemed to get very poor traction compared to Ollie, I can only guess this was due to different setups since it happened again later in the race. Téa span in sector 3 later leaving Ollie 1st with me in pursuit. After I saw him get very sideways in sector 1 I tried to make a move out of the tunnel, but Ollie didn’t seem to see me and turned in. Racing incident in my opinion. I lost my front wing an limped back to pits. There goes my 1 stop strategy! The plan from there was to try and help Téa win, since I assumed that I was effectively 20 secs down due to the extra pitstop. After my second pitstop Téa crashed leaving me to hunt down Ollie. Luckily for me he pitted again leaving me just behind him. I couldn’t find a way through since he was on fresh options and with superior traction. I decided to be patient and wait for an opening. On laps 21 and 22 and tried going down the outside coming out of the tunnel to little success. I turned up the engine mode on L22 and left it on for the last lap as well. Luckily for me Ollie made a slight mistake at turn 16 and I managed to along the outside of him, he outbroke himself into Rascasse and I got past. An unexpected victory!

DoD: Ollie – For his annoyingly effective Trulli train and his overtake going into Tabac (still can’t believe we both fit through there!).

@olliekart Is the F1 2011 mini championship going on still? If so at what time are we all racing?

I had it on my calendar so I remembered, lol. I’m still up for a mini championship at some point anyway.

@olliekart Sorry Ollie, thanks for the offer, but it’s a no from me. I just don’t have the time tonight. Enjoy it though. :)
