I was on the inside, I thought it was a Lotus on the outside.

@Olliekart – Grow up, man. I was ahead of you, and I was moving over to defend the inside line. I couldn’t see you to the left, but I could see that you were behind. If you saw me coming over, as I was ahead, then you should have moved. I’m not immature enough to even think about ‘revenge’ for you suggesting a restart anyway. Clearly you are the type to get annoyed when things don’t go your way, but that’s not my problem. It was a racing incident. It was no different to you taking Bradley out the same way last season. In fact, lag had no chance to play a part in this, as I have very good connection today.

my race was kinda boring, playing a catch up game, but i wasnt really consistent enough.

i had a setup for mixed rain and dry cndtions, i thought i could change it but i found out i couldnt after my first run, te i had to stick with it.

the poblem with my car all race was my front tyres were getting over heated and my rear tyres were in great temp. i eased up abit so i can get the right temp but took a very very long time to get the right temp. it was just a bit better with hard tyres.

my second problem was brakes i couldnt get enough heat to them, they were ruining my laps, front and rear lock, ive been using low prssure and large for the past 2 days and finaly realised they dont work.

3rd problem was my setup, i had a different setup from what i had before, what made me not use it, idk. lol the one i shared with u brook, dont know if u like it but its vey consistent and fast if u get used to it, but not for any other track..

and last but not least is strategy, i forgot to change my fuel to cautious, car was extra heavy, it felt like i wa driving a tank.

for me it was a lesson learnt and jf ur race will be much harder next time :P congrats u diserved it.

    video will be up soon

    Qualifying:
After the restart, I was quite pleased to see that the conditions were much the same…until I got out on track, and realised it was damp. This actually excited me a lot, and I was really pleased to get something like a second faster than everyone straight off the bat.
As you all know, the track became dryer as the session went on, and the last person out on track was definitely going to have the best chance at going for pole. I went out for two more laps with 5 minutes remaining as I started my first lap, which I was able to take provisional pole with, until it was beaten, and then on my second lap, I stole it once again. Everyone seemed done after that, with my closest rival down in 8th or 9th, only second from last. Little did I know that @Olliekart was in fact the last on track, and took pole by half a second. I definitely think I could have improved again, but I was pleased with second considering that with the race being effectively cancelled this week, I had not done any practice for 2 weeks on this track.

    Race:
I was hoping that my low downforce setup would suit the race a bit more…not sure if it was the case, but it was good enough to keep me consistent, which turned out to be the main thing.
I got another good start, accelerating passed Oli, before moving over to take the inside line, so as to defend my lead. I have no idea what happened after that, I looked back to see a Ferrari out of control, and then a Caterham slide across me a few feet away into turn 1, which was a little odd.
@Moss-611 followed me out of turn 2, with @Formula-1 behind him. I knew I had a race on my hands, because Moussa is never an easy competitor.
I think I made a mistake at the end of the first lap, coming out of the last corner, but luckily Moss did the same thing on that lap, just before he end of sector 2.
A couple of laps later, Moss passed me with the help of DRS. I didn’t put up too much of a fight. Oli was already down the field, and there was no point risking a podium finish with a silly incident. I believe the next lap, I got DRS, which surprised me, and although I was quite far away I was able to close up considerably, and out of turn 2, it looked like Moss lost traction, so I was able to re-pass him for the lead and just stay consistent from then onwards.
There was a bit of back and forth pace from both myself and Moss, closing and pulling away in different sectors on different laps.
I pitted on lap 12 for primes. I didn’t want to stay out on the options any longer than I had to, and maintained the gap to Moss, until he pitted on lap (14?). At this point, I was thinking that he could have been on primes at the start, and was starting to worry, until I pulled away a little, and again maintained the gap.
It wasn’t until the last 5-6 laps that Moss was really catching me, which was worrying, but every now and then I would up the revs and pull a couple of tenths where I could, trying not to destroy the rears in the process.

All in all, a good race. Quali was fun, as were the battles with Moss at the start. Looking forward to seeing how everyone else’s race panned out. Thanks to @Sato-113 for standing in for @Bradley13 and apologies for @RagingInferno for somehow missing your invite at the beginning.

Happy birthday to @Olliekart – Sorry the race didn’t go as you had expected, I’m sure the three of us battling for the lead would have been great fun.

Can’t remember the results in its entirety, but I’m sure someone here has captured them ^_^

First race in here and to get wiped out on the start strait was a shock, broke front wing and got a penalty for it but I can’t see how I had a good start from 4th and I was on the out side when I got hit and spun in to the wall. After stoping for primes and doing few laps I over took travrin or what ever his name is by using DRS then he just T boned me at the next corner and drove off gaining 8 seconds and destroying my race at the same time. Few more laps I closed the gap again to him this time at the back strait just before DRS detection zone where he braked really early to try and get DRS of me which meant that he actually stopped at the last corner then turned into me an he still didn’t get my DRS. After that I over took 2 more people while they in the Pitts and I opened an 18second gap to them, so I pitted again for options this time so it was easy to overtake them again. Gap was 2 big to 2nd place so all I had to do is opena 10 second gap to secure 2nd and that was that.

Turned out to be an enjoyable race for myself, which I didn’t think was going to happen after the pile up before T1.

    Quali:
Smashed into a wall on my first flying lap whilst trying to use the DRS on T3. Apparently there was a big puddle there which I hadn’t seen. The next few runs were OK, and I then pitted for fresh tyres and fuel. Was 5th overall when I started my last lap, I was around 7 tenths up on my best when I ran out of fuel before the last corner. I was still reasonably satisfied with 5th (I think it was 5th anyway, lol)

Race: I got a good start and was close to Moss when a two or three cars suddenly piled into the side of me. I lost my front wing and had to limp back to the pits. I saw Ollie fly off the track to the left and noticed that I had an unusually large gap to the group behind that were also involved in the incident, possibly caused by another crash? After pitting I was around 13 seconds ahead of Alfie, and slowly increased the gap by a tenth a lap or so. I caught up with Sova later and overtook him before the last corner after he went wide at the tricky penultimate corner. Brooksy and Sato were around 13 seconds ahead of me still but I think there must of been a collision since I was soon only 4 seconds behind. I closed the gap down to next to nothing and overtook Sato on the main straight since Brooksy and I both had DRS. Brooksy skidded off at T1 with a puncture (apparently we made contact on his screen, but on mine I’d left a very large gap). Sato then battled with me until lap 12 where cut across me to enter the pits. I ended up in the gravel trap so decided to limp into the pits for an unexpected pitstop. Alfie was a second or so behind me after the stop and on used options. There was contact at the end of the lap which lost me around 2.5 seconds (not sure what happened here, possibly lag again). Alfie crashed out, apparently trying to make his tyres go too far and I set about catching Sato again. Luckily I seemed to adjust to the tyres quicker and was able to close the gap, and soon made it past. Later in the race Afroholic past me and starting setting purple lap times, I maintained the gap to Sato behind whilst managing fuel and tyres. Overall a decent race and a decent 4th place as a reward.

In a Lotus, i stood in for @bradley13 but i hope to continue in the championship collecting points for myself even if i change teams.

qualy: safe few laps in the damp. then fastish lap at end. P7 i think. pretty poor!

RACE: very fun actually. Carnage infront of me meant I got up to P4 by turn 4 where i followed a sauber for a bit. he went wide lap 1 turn 6 i went onto grass to avoid but had to hand position back to avoid a penalty.

then i had a good battle with @formula-1 (sozavele). he ran a bit wide turn 2, i undercut him so was ahead into the long turn 3. i think i misjudged how close he was so perhaps turned in a bit early. we span and as i came to a stop @olliekart hit me int he aftermath. unlucky! i guess you saw me ahead as a ghost then i ‘solidified’ just as you we about to drive through me.

from here on i had a race long epic battle with @raginginferno in his mercedes. we were very even for the most part. btw, to explain the pit entry incident. you slowed down so much on the last corner (i guess you wanted me to overtake and you’d get DRS) and i was pitting so i accepted the gap you left me on the inside. you wanted to carry on straight so we clashed! anyway, we swapped positions a few times after the pits and I eventually couldn’t keep up.

I ended 5th which is fine i guess!

Dismal race as usual. Just wondering, was I lagging to anyone?

Race: I ran through the carnage to the first corner without getting involved for once and managed to get to 3rd and ran there for a few laps and had a brilliant battle with @sato113, when the spin happened I didn’t lose to much time but it was more when my tyres went off and I had to make an early pit stop that I lost a lot of time! My race ended when I moved off the track to let a lapping car through, when my tyres lost temperature, when I accelerated through a corner I spun the car and lost the front wing, gutting, I was going to the pits and got to pitlane but the damaged car caused over steer which drove me into the wall destroying my car, but from what I was involved in it was a brilliant one, the race I have most enjoyed out of all of the races in your series @bradley13.

Right, so far I’ve worked the order out as:

    1. Jamie – Lotus
    2. @Moss-611 – Ferrari
    3. @Afroholic – Sauber
    4. @RagingInferno – Mercedes
    5. @Sato-113 – Lotus
    6. (I think I recall it being) @Brooksy007 – Ferrari
And then @Alfie @Olliekart and @Formula-1 with DNFs.

Almost certain that covers everyone, which would alter the standings to look like this:

    Driver’s Championship
    1. Jamie Franklin – 18
    2. Oli Peacock – 10
    3. Tom Robson – 9
    4. Moussa Awada – 8
    5. John Brookfield – 8
    6. Alfie Widger – 6
    7. Ahmed Hussen – 6
    8. @Sato-113 (Hasn’t posted his name) – 4
    9. George Angus – 3
The rest have yet to score.

    Constructor’s Championship
    1. Lotus – 22
    2. Ferrari – 16
    3. Caterham – 10
    4. Mercedes – 9
    5. McLaren – 6
    6. Sauber – 6
    7. Red Bull – 3
    8. Williams – 0

Haha the arrows behind @moss-611 show what happened in the crash further back! It’s around 04:10 into the video.

at 4:17 in that vid @jamiefranklinf1 makes a sharp sudden move to the right. this causes @olliekart to crash. IMO

  • Profile picture of Oli Peacock Oli Peacock said 4 months, 3 weeks ago:

Yeah that’s kinda what happened @sato113 nothing I could do.

  • Profile picture of Harry Westwood Harry Westwood said 4 months, 3 weeks ago:

I saw the video and showed my brother, and it looks like you cut across him very sharply @jamiefranklinf1 you must’ve seen the arrows, I think he should’ve been given more room or time to react or both, my brother agreed with me. Not implying malicious intent, more a lack of spatial awareness or just lack of care :/ @olliekart if you could produce a video from your pov I’d love to see it
