Not really giving this time trial importance, I’ve only done practices online, I can hit low 9′s in a quali but that’s with a sauber and the fastest I’ve done with the Ferrari is a 9.5

1:09.045 In TT, with a Multiplayer set-up. Fairly happy with that

Today was a shambles for the championship in my opinion, the restart was not done well in my opinion cars all over the place, extremely difficult to get into position, hence my front wing got broken, therefore I was really slow, sorry to the guys behind if I was in the way, even though @sirspuddington DID OVERTAKE before it was allowed, however in the rules: and on Lap 1, we all get ourselves into the race order at the red flag point, with the leader acting as the Safety Car – so going at a slow pace and . If anyone fails to comply to getting into the correct order, they will disqualified and given a race ban. Personally I think if peoples cars get damaged in the process it is unfair and then a second restart lap should be used to allow that person to catch up and get into position, or at least the cars ahead of us at the back would have noticed not everybody was there or at least the person in 8th so they should have slowed down and waited for us to catch up in my opinion. :(

My race was basically, one big gamble.
Qualied on Primes, hoping for there to be a big scrap at the top
Wet set-up, hoping that there would be MORE rain
No Inters, hoping that the track would dry out quicker
Fair to say, of them worked haha

@Formula-1 – Sorry to hear about that, and I assure you that there will be a full enquiry. Personally, I think Moss was a little quick for the first half of the lap, and didn’t back the pack up sufficiently, but nothing can be done about that now.

    Quali – 2nd
I had a pretty decent qualifying session, spending the majority of it +0.183 ahead of Moss, in provisional pole position, and it had been my best time to date, though I felt that there was more to come. After @Alfie disconnected, I went out for 3 flying laps. The first two were pretty terrible, but the third (Just after @Moss-611 had snatched pole) was look a whole lot better. I was two tenths up in the first sector, a tenth and a half from Moss’ time, and the second sector was good as well, though I messed up the exit of the penultimate corner, which then messed up the final turn, which meant that I didn’t improve, which was a little disappointing.

    Race – 2nd
Safety car restart for Alfie. I could only really see myself, Moss, @Olliekart and @Afroholic during this lap, and as I eluded to earlier, I think Moss was going a little too quickly. But anyway, Moss shot out of the final corner, as expected and I followed him down. I didn’t get a good enough run into turn 1, but it was looking a lot better for turn 4. Moss went wide, and handed me the lead, and I was able to build a nice gap as he and Afro fought for second.
Suddenly though, the rain had come, and was making the track wet a lot faster than I had anticipated, meaning I suddenly had no grip. I pitted for inters, falling back into third, but I re-took the lead when others pitted. I don’t think Oli or Ahmed went onto inters though, they had somehow made the wets work, meaning that I came out in second, 7 seconds behind Ahmed when I put the full wets on, and only a second in front of Oli.
We fought for a few laps, until he inevitably got through. I couldn’t match him for this period, but as soon as I put the inters back on, I was flying. Soon caught up to Oli, who hadn’t bothered with the inters, and flew passed, setting about catching Ahmed.
The track was becoming dry, and I gambled on a set of options. I came out, and slid the car through turn 4, not being able to get the power down. I lost quite a lot of time here, probably a good 6-7 seconds at least. Each lap I became more confident though, as I found the dry line, and was soon catching Ahmed at 2 seconds a lap. It calmed down towards the end, but during that period I got the gap down from 30 seconds, to 11, so overall, pretty good. Set the fastest lap of 1:12.308. In hindsight, I would have pitted one lap later for the options, but that’s neither here nor there now :P
Congrats to @Afroholic, definitely deserved of the win. I’m more happy to increase my Championship lead than anything, and to gain some points on Ferrari in the Constructor’s as well!

    Great race guys!

    Really unprofessional

    The blocking in qualy.
    The restart.
I had big time toe on start finish and my brakes were not in temperature so I started locking, I lost 1st on t3 easily.

I’m sure if we started a normal race this wouldn’t happen.

And then rain which we never should’ve had in the main race. Maybe I should’ve had the 3d racing line and some stability aids to help me keep my car in track.

Waking up at 3AM just to go thru that. I had no energy

JF u can take one Ferraris out of the competition because I’m pulling out. Really don’t have the energy for this at 3am.

A big thank you to Bradley for accepting me here. It was great racing with all of u.

@moss-611 Well you are blumin brilliant if you have pace like that at 3am, I commend you!

  • Profile picture of JamieFranklinF1 JamieFranklinF1 said 3 months, 3 weeks ago:

@Moss-611 – I’d really like you to reconsider, it wouldn’t be the same without you, mate. I know that a restart isn’t ideal, but it’s the best way to ensure that everyone gets to race, and we are all in the same boat. I’d also like to point out that rain WAS expected in the original race as well.

    @formula-1
Thank u very much, it’s not so good when u lose lots of pace, yesterday I had 2 practice race with assanatar and abb, I was doing easy 9′s in qualy then consistent 11 in the race which is normal for me but really can’t replicate my pace at this 3AM. Sometimes I do but most times I don’t.

@jamiefranklinf1 I totally respect ur decisions, and the effort u are putting to keep this league going. But all I know is a restart isn’t worth it even If I or u Bradley gets disconnected, that how we’ve always had it.

And what’s the point of parc ferme when we can change our setup when we restart. Tire ware isn’t as important anymore and there’s no more strategy.

@Moss-611 I’m very sorry to hear that, been great watching you win and I hope you go on to prosper in a league that suits your time zone.

Quali: 11th I went out to qualify but kept spinning or sliding, then ran out of fuel at the end. Not that great.
Race: 5th At the start I was making my intermediate setup, and was very annoyed when someone didn’t wait for everyone to be ready and clicked start. So at the start I pulled over to let everyone past, and then i was behind @formula-1. I spent the entire lap narrowly avoiding him I had no idea he had no front wing, he should’ve moved over to not hinder everyone’s start at the back. I passed him twice i think and let him back through. I think for you to say that is very unfair though, because:
There was no specified safety car line,
You were slow AND off the track,
You destroyed me and 2 other racer’s starts.
Anyway, knowing the rain was coming I put on rich fuel and set about catching asanator, setting a fastest lap in the process, before jamie and afro smashed it :P. I cant remember much until it began to rain, i timed my pitstop for inters perfectly, but the rain fell much quicker than I expected and so I went to pit for wets. Trouble is I accidentally picked inters! Struggled for another lap and then got the wets on. Flat out left hander before s3 starts was heart in mouth every lap, and at about lap 17 i began saving fuel, and asanator was holding the gap back to me steady. Not much else happened but a lot of retirements. Had a good battle with asanator beforehand though. Anyway I was lapped by Afro and then I started to slide a bit, the sky was blue and I knew it was time for inters. I got the stop spot-on, and gained massively, even unlapping myself from @olliekart in the process, true hamilton style. I left ollie behind and began chasing mrt-ipitydafool (i think) fairly quiet, had 5 laps or fuel but didnt use it, lap 30 i pitted for options, spot on again, got confidence at lap 33, wasn’t doing too badly but didnt manage to use all my fuel and since i was lapped finished on lap 35 as the third fastest lapper. Not bad, well needed points for me and lotus, however it was a very interesting race to say the least.

Side note: I know it’s very early to ask but since Moss is leaving would it be ok for me to take his spot in the Ferrari? And really congrats @afroholic you raced really well, timed everything to perfection and drove beautifully, DoD for me goes to you. :)

Ahh yes, I had forgotten about that. I would definitely like to know who pressed start, before everyone was ready?

And how did your front wing get knocked off @Formula-1?

    Quali: 5th
Struggled to get a good rhythm in qualifying, most likely due to not doing enough practice. Couldn’t quite beat Ollie’s time, so I started on the third row. I’d like to thank the Sauber drivers for making room when I was on my flying lap.

    Race: 4th
Got a decent start and was all over Ollie for the first few laps. Got past him eventually but he got right back past in the DRS zone. I later made a mistake which dropped me back towards sirspuddington. Luckily I was able to just about keep out of the DRS zone, and was able to keep the gap. Pitted for inters at just the right time; this allowed me to get past Ollie, as hed gambled on going straight onto full wets. I pitted again for wets a few laps later and came out with a comfortable gap as sirspuddington had fallen back as the rain got heavier. I can’t comment on this stint too much as I can’t remember all that much, though I remember that Moss was catching me throughout the stint and I was matching Jamie’s pace. I gambled on dry tyres WAY too early which lost me position to Moss since I had had to again as soon as possible for inters. This was a fairly quiet stint. Ollie gambled once again on his tyres, going for dry a bit early. This meant I was up to third, though on inters. I had to pit again for dry tyres which put me back in a lonely 4th place. Good race, nice battle with Olliekart and some pressure for sirspuddington

DoD goes to Afro, I didn’t see him all race since he was so far ahead lol.
