My Little championship battle at the bottom of the table is kaput

    Quali: 5th
The car was feeling ok and I was about where I expected to be; no surprises.

    Race: 3rd
After a somewhat botched restart I started gaining on the people ahead, and got past Jamie for 2nd on the second racing lap. I was pulling away but I made a mistake at the chicane later and completely lost the rear end. After pitting from second I was pretty much resigned to 3rd place, as I had no consistency because the car was handling SO badly. I had huge understeer and if I so much as looked at a kerb the rear end would instantly snap away. I also applaud CodeMasters on managing to make overtseer boring, not sure how they managed that. Not much else to say about the race.

DoD has to be Bradley for racking up a 90 second penalty and having the will power (no, not the IndyCar driver) to continue.

Quali: Went primes and race setup. 2nd lap was meant to be better but me and Jamie had a bit of miscommunication while getting out of my way :/

Race 1: Going well until all DSC and was not surprised at all
Race 2: Formation Lap was not good my Afro, causing me, Jamie and Bradley to pile into each other. Got one penalty ‘impeding’ and one for the pile up :/ Once we were going Afro and Jamie were out of the equation
Tried to pass Bradley, but either lag or sturn defending made it a bit to dangerous to try anything, so i waited for him to make a mistake which he did :P SC came out for Harry, and when we going Jamie spun Bradley so i took the lead lol. Lead until the pit stop which was cause i stuffed it a barrier, breaking my wing. Did 17 Laps on the options which made me really happy and won the race.

D.o.D Tom – Not practicing and getting 3rd, no penalties either
or Bradley – Great Pace but a couple of mistakes but FLAP was on 4 lap old tires, so that distorts it a bit

    Quali – 3rd
The aim was to qualify on primes, giving me a better run at a one stop during the race. This allowed me an eventual 3rd place, behind @Bradley13. However, as we were going to do a rolling start, I decided that going out on options was the thing to do. Immediately, I felt like I had the pace…that was until I saw @Olliekart behind me. I let him through after turn 6, and instead of taking the inside line and moving passed, he crashed into me and broke my front wing.
I had no choice but to do my lap anyway, and was 2 tenths up on @Afroholic in the first sector, but I wasn’t able to best his time, and eventually slowed down so as not to beat my own lap, and could still start on primes.

    Race – Provisional 2nd
The race was a shambles. Obviously the first restart was obstructed by a mass disconnect, which was fine, but the second was terrible. First, I got THREE ‘illegal blocking’ penalties in the first sector for apparently being too slow, when actually, I was just waiting for Bradley to go through, so I’m sure @Bradley13 can understand that they should be erased.
The worst bit however, was the actual restart, we went through the last corner very close, but then @Afroholic decided to brake near the start/finish line, causing a domino effect. I don’t know what @Olliekart was doing, but he then spun me. No-one knew what was going on, but the top 3 raced off, and I set about catching them.
Oli and Ahmed then had a coming together, and I can’t remember what happened to Oli (I’ll check the video later), but I was up to second. Then lag pushed Bradley aside into the first corner, I tried to slow even more, but that allowed Oli into the lead.
@Raginginferno then pushed me a little wide on two consecutive laps at turn 7/8? However, after he pitted, I was able to pull a gap and that was that. One stopped, but Oli did as well, so that was no advantage.
Not sure what Oli’s penalties were for, so for now the top two results are provisional until further notice.

HOWEVER, despite all that, I am pleased to announce that I have finally won a Championship xD…as do Lotus as well, I believe. So, after a tough, and eventful race, that is a great boost :)

I’ll try to post my video soon, so that you can all see some of the carnage.

    @jamiefranklinf1
You make me as some sort of criminal :P

Once you see my video all we be clear to you :P

@Olliekart – Just making things clear from my perspective, I’m sure others would do the same if I appeared to be guilty :P

I’m sure it will be :), I was never really going to be able to compete with you anyway, unless you had made another mistake.

@jamiefranklinf1 I was under the impression that you out-braked yourself on the second occasion?

  • Profile picture of JamieFranklinF1 JamieFranklinF1 said 4 months ago:

@Sirspuddington – Why do you say that? Until now, you’ve been very enthusiastic, and unfortunately these things can happen with any game. We tend to get the odd disconnection here and there, but it happens to everyone.

@Raginginferno – On the first occasion, it was a matter of me trying to give you space and running out of room a little. The second occasion was a bit of a barge :P (I think it was that way around anyway…the video shall reveal all!)

The PS3 internet is working again….typical….if I had hung on today I could have got a point (providing I wasn’t disconnected) :(

@jamiefranklinf1 the physics, the game is like in f1 2010 where if you take the corner with a little too much of a certain kerb it sends you backwards through the corner

  • Profile picture of Harry Westwood Harry Westwood said 4 months ago:

Nothing to do with connection as I quit of my own accord

  • Profile picture of JamieFranklinF1 JamieFranklinF1 said 4 months ago:

@Sirspuddington – It’s not whatsoever, and I know, I have tested the three games back to back. If you don’t believe me, pop in F1 2010 and see the difference for yourself.

@Raginginferno – My mistake, after watching the video again, it was a slight barge on the side on the first occasion, and two laps later it was a tap from behind, which sent me on to the grass :P

@jamiefranklinf1 I know, just seems that a lot of what you said went against me. I assure you that most of our issuses were probably lag related as i was streaming. For example in quali on your screen i could of been a car length in front of what was on my screen :)

@Olliekart – We’ll call it the heat of the moment ;) I apologise if it came across that way. I’ll make sure to proof-read my comments in the future, haha

Sorry I’m just really angry and disappointed because I had the pace to be right up there for once but I crashed
