    Hi Guys,

    I won’t be able to commit for this season unfortunately, I may be able to attend the odd race as a stand-in if required though! ;)

    Hi guys – sorry, I haven’t really been on my computer over the weekend! Looking through the calendar I can quickly rule myself out of the first 4 races unfortunately. I’d love to take part, but I don’t want to take up a seat and then not be available most of the time which I suspect will be the case. Thanks for considering me though.

    I’ve seen a reserve list mentioned? I should imagine that may be getting quite full, but if I happen to be about when a race is on then I’d be happy to jump in and fill up the grid.

    @bradley13 at this rate we’ll get more reserves than we will full time lol

    hold on… you interested @slr?

    @Bradley13 I am interested in fiting in where ever I can. Let me know what you have available please. Cheers.

    Jeff

    @Lead-Lobber – That’s brilliant, and would make our 16th man. The only space available is Lotus, are you ok with this?

    To be honest, I was going to include you earlier, but seeing as you hadn’t commented I feared you were one of them people who signed up for a few days and then disappeared. It’s good to see you commenting again and I hope you will now do so as regularly as possible :)

    Can I now please have some information for he Wiki:

    @supernicebob – If I can grab the same info from you, I’ll stick you on the reserve list :)

    @Bradley13 I’d be happy to take the last slot. And I’m totally fine with Lotus. I think the car looks tits anyway. Time to practice and get used to the rules. I’m off to read up on the Wiki. Cheers.

    Well what lovely news. Though I thought the 2013 F1 season still had Hockenheim, and so we won’t be able to race at the Nurburgring?

    2013 F1F Formula One PS3 World Championship

    With the winter now over, though many wouldn’t believe it with the horrendous weather, it is time for us to move on and enter the true season. No-one remembers or cares what the winter series held, because this is the one everyone really wants to win. John Brookfield took the honours of the first Championship, with Shane Butler taking the title in the final round of the following year. This year, with both out for some of the season, it is likely that we will see a new Champ crowned.

    With many new faces coming into their first season, it is likely to be a very exciting and full of surprises. The inaugural round in Melbourne is under two weeks away now, and it promises to be the start of our best season yet.

    Only one man (or woman, if you are Miss Kirkham) can come out with the Championship, and look down at the rest of us as mere mortals with the knowledge that they are better than everyone else here.

    _________________________________________________________

    Let’s meet the teams!

    Vodafone McLaren Mercedes

    @AlfieRookieTheme

    F2 graduate, Alfie Widger looks to be one of the most promising candidates coming into the in-season Championship. He is certainly no stranger to Formula One, having one race under his belt during our last season…in which he won. Not only was he very quick in F2, he also seems to be a bit of a street specialist, setting blistering times in both Monaco and Singapore. Having been recruited by McLaren, he seems to be on the platform to success, and could well contend for many podiums and wins this season, if not the Championship itself.

    One thing’s for sure. He will want to be more reliable than in the Random Forum Championship!

    @Sato113RookieTheme

    McLaren completes its all rookie line-up with Theo Fa. He has yet to race in the main Championship, but he did enjoy some success during the winter series. He is certainly no slouch in the pace department, and though he has yet to race in the full season, he may be part of one of the strongest partnerships on the grid.

    Team Lotus

    @Abboracing8thTheme

    George Angus joins Lotus after leaving his Force India team. He enjoyed a consistent season last time out, but after joining the team that finished second in the Constructor’s, his goals will surely be higher, and nothing will stand in his way from achieving them.

    @Lead-LobberRookieTheme

    Not much is known about Jeffrey Ryals, having never competed here in the past. However, to rule him out so early would definitely be foolish. Come Melbourne, he will show his cards. For all we know, he could be another Moussa Awada and blow the field away in qualifying.

    Sauber F1 Team

    @Olliekart9thTheme

    What can be said about this guy? He’s mightily fast. Is there anything more to say? Surely, despite having not won a Championship yet, he is certainly going in as the favourite. A master of qualifying, and certainly not slow in the race. Oli Peacock could well dominate the season, as long as he keeps his head.

    @Tayzz94RookieTheme

    Another F2 graduate, Tea Kirkham (Forgotten the e code) could surprise this season. Time and again, she has shown flashes of pace which could definitely trouble the front runners if she were to tap into that potential more regularly. She almost achieved the front row in Hungary during the winter, and with more performances like that, it could make Sauber the strongest team here.

    Williams F1 Team

    @Bradley133rdTheme

    Bradley Downton is an enigma. He can cut it with the rest of them on his day, but lacks consistency. He has won races in the past, and was close to taking the Championship last season, save for a little more luck. He moved to Williams after a successful season with Lotus, but they too know that he has untapped potential, much the same as Kirkham. This season, he could well be a regular podium contender, as long as he reigns it in a little and keeps a cool head. He is definitely one to watch!

    Jamie Franklin – 5thTheme

    Graduated from F2 halfway through last season, taking Oli’s place. He enjoyed a lot of success at the end of the season, and continued that through into the Winter to take the Championship. With renewed motivation in a new team, and more confidence in his own abilities, we could see more of the same this season, but whether he can match Oli Peacock or any other emerging contenders will be another matter.

    Scuderia Ferrari

    @Shaneb12345678910ChampionTheme

    Our reigning Champion may not be able to commit to a full season, but that doesn’t make him any less threatening. A dominant win in Abu Dhabi during his last race is the best way to describe him. On his day, he is unbeatable, and those days aren’t exactly few and far between either. Whether his absence has slowed him any will be interesting, but even without a full season, Shane Butler is a contender for wins and podiums.

    @David-a6thTheme

    David is a solid racer, and can compete for a podium in any race. Putting regular points on the board consistently will make him one to watch, especially as he searches for that elusive first win. Ferrari will want to make him a winner, and there is no doubting that he can become one.

    Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team

    @formula-119thTheme

    An enthusiastic youngster with a lot to prove. Always happy to go racing, and certainly wants to achieve. Mercedes will be looking to move him up the field with a consistent, reliable and fast car. Being teamed up with a rookie will certainly give him something to think about, and he will be looking to make a strong claim as the team’s number one.

    @sam3110RookieTheme

    Another rookie that we barely know anything about. Mercedes seem to rate him, and there is no evidence to suggest he won’t be quick. The team will want a strong showing from their drivers, so he will be looking to impress against a known quantity in Kaz Armos.

    Caterham F1 Team

    @RagingInfernoF2 ChampionTheme

    Tom Robson made a strong showing against his team mate during F2, and after Jamie left for F1, Tom picked up the pieces and claimed the title. If Alfie Widger can win a race, then there is nothing to suggest that Tom can’t as well, though that is complimenting both of their talents. Caterham did well in snatching up this talent, and he will be looking to be the first driver to take home both F2 and F1 titles.

    @SirspuddingtonRookieTheme

    Harry Westwood could well be one of the strongest rookies on the grid. Obvious both Alfie and Tom have claims to that title, but Harry can be very quick on his day. A near-miss win in Abu Dhabi during the final round of the winter series will have motivated him to no end for the main Championship. If he can tap into that potential more often, then Tom will have his hands full with this one. He completes another very strong and exciting line-up.

    Marussia F1 Team

    @Electrolite7thTheme

    Luke Pickering has proven that he can race with the best during both the Collantine Cup and our last season. He will surely be competing for podiums, if not wins during the new season. A consistent performer and a very strong, complete racer. Luke could well be the dark horse of the competition.

    @SilverkegRookieTheme

    Our final rookie, Ryan Tredrea. Another jumper from the Collantine Cup, and could upset the order during the 2013 season. He has a cool name, and picks up points regularly, as Damon mentioned during the last one of these. So will the Collantine-Cuppers disrupt this league and prove to be better than the rest of us?

    The themes were done last minute, and a little rushed, if you would like them re-visited, then don’t hesitate to tell me :P (I might have even accidentally missed some, I hope not)

    Edited by @bradley13:
    I have set up a Facebook group for this Championship. I presume the younger among you check Facebook more regularly than F1 Fanatic and so it might be better to keep you updated with race dates etc. If you are on Facebook and would like to join the group, send me a private message on here and I shall link you to my profile to add me as a friend. I will then add you into the group.

You need to log in to create and reply to topics. You can log in with your F1 Fanatic account here or sign up for an F1 Fanatic account here.
