Field Shake-Up as Malaysia beckons
Following the event’s of the Singapore Grand Prix, there have been a few changes to the line-up.
Alfie Widger has left McLaren on personal grounds and the team have drafted in Sauber’s Oli Peacock as replacement. This comes as a surprise to many for Peacock to leave the team he’s won the opening two races with but he’s said to be happy with where McLaren are heading this season but didn’t feel Sauber could keep up with development. Sauber have hired new driver Dylan Lopez to race alongside Tea Kirkham.
The other move is the highly anticipated switch between the Williams and Mercedes drivers. While no real reason has been given, all parties are said to be satisfied with the move.

Ok, now guys, the real reason for this switch is that after some digging we have discovered the Sauber has a significant speed advantage over the rest of the field (2 tenths over the Williams, 3 over the rest of the field). We all know Oli is arguably the quickest driver and having him in the quickest car isn’t fair on the rest of us, so he has kindly agreed to take a more average car on the agreement that me and Jamie leave the Williams which has a 1 tenth advantage over others. With our swap with Merc we have now done this. As such the drivers who are in the Sauber and Williams cars now are those who generally find themselves further down the grid, or whom haven’t raced and so we do not yet have a reading from!
We appreciate the co-operation of everyone who has been involved in this situation.
