Harry Westwood to race in 2013!
Harry Westwood is looking set to finally appear in the F1Fanatic F1 league, although it has not yet been confirmed who he will be racing for. He had intentions to join a lower formula last year, but due to his comittments to club football, was forced to withdraw. He has recently begun racing again and appeared as a reserver driver in the winter series in rounds 3 (Caterham) 4-5 (Lotus) 6-7 (McLaren) most notably winning the finale, but sadly having his win stripped and was demoted to 2nd due to poor driving. It is thought he may be looking at a permanent drive for lotus or mclaren, however those close to him have indicated he is also keeping an eye on the marussia, rumour has it that despite their lack of results of late, Harry rates them highly and sees them as developing well. When asked about the situation, he said
“I am very glad to finally have this opportunity. It has been an aspiration of mine for a while now, and I am looking at upsetting the front runners, while gaining experience and speed all the time. I will be looking to avoid trouble as well. I am currently in negotiation with several teams, each offering something different to the last. However, I am still quite low on the wanted list so I have to wait and see how things pan out.”
He refused to comment any further on teams.
Harry Westwood will be one of the youngest, if not the youngest competitor in the history of the series, with the date of the first race making him approximately 14 years and 10 months old. He denied concerns about his age and how that would affect his racing, and simply stated “Age or race or gender or whatever, it makes no difference. Everyone is out there fighting to win, and fighting hard. My age shouldn’t place me at as much of a disadvantage as most anticipate.”
