F1 Fanatic

Ordered the game yesterday and it was waiting for me when I got home today (meant to be released tomorrow). Good Times! Had a quick shot at a time trial before I realised i had to download a PS3 update. I cut the corner at the end of Montreal on my 2nd lap but it still kept my time. Took me a good few laps before I could beat that time by going through the corner properly. Seems pretty damned good apart from that though!

Game fell through the letterbox for me too today :). Seems fantastic, handling is so much sharper and more confidence inspiring than last year’s. Funnily enough one of the main shifts forward for me is the with the sound, they’ve really gone to town on it this year, not just the engine noises but also smaller things like the air rushing past your head in cockpit mode and all the incidental noises that happen in surround sound the whole way around the track. Really impressive stuff.

I should also add that driving with all assists off is a lot ‘easier’ now, mainly because you get a lot more feedback from the car so can correct things before it goes wrong, at least when using a wheel

You could say I was rather pleased.

It works just fine for me. But the forums did go down shortly after release, so the server was probably inundated with requests and couldn’t handle it.

I’m still planning on hosting an F1F exclusive PS3 session tonight at 20:00GMT (21:00 London time).
