RACE REPORT: Q-Pole R-1st
Good conditions for quali but rain for the race meant that i would not need to save my tyres. So i went out and did 2 runs on the option tyre, my first run was good, and i duly went fastest on my first flying lap. Then Moss popped up into pole by 4 tenths. I wanted to drop back and follow him to see where he was faster than me, and then it came all too apparent. At T4 and T8 he was running wide, so i went for 1 more lap to see if i could match it, and i couldnt. So i decided if u cant beat them join em’, and i duly followed his lines for my second run, this gave me pole (un-moraley however). I then saw Jamie post an intent to investigate Moss and Myself, so i decided to stop copying him for the race.
A average start, but i kept the lead going into T1, i then received a small knock from behind, i think it was Brooksy but im unsure this put me wildly wide and i had to ignore T2, the order remained however. From then on i just focused on keeping it on the black stuff, which i did after 5 laps! I pulled my lead out to 4 secs by Lap 8, but i kept noticing Moss taking 5 tenths to a second out of me S2, so i looked behind on the mini-map and the view to see Moss once or twice kissing the blue barrier on the outside of T4. This distracted me and i cut a couple of the twisty stuff in S3. I stayed out on inters til lap 14 and i pitted for them twice more during the race. By lap 27 my inters were red o n the condition indicator and orange on the temp indicator, so i had terminal understeer from then on. Then half way round the final lap i ran out of fuel!
DoD: hard to say really because no one stood out, but im gonna say Brooksy cos he set the fastest lap, when he pitted early for options
