When asked if the W12 engine would suffer from any unreliability, Lucas said this “We hope not, obviously Volkswagen have been working on this engine for quite a while now so we hope that any problems will be ironed out by early 2014″.
Many questions have been made about the legality of this engine, the head of Volkswagen motorsport division stated “We hope the engine will be accepted, we also have a normal V8 Engine if the W12 plan falls apart. The engine will have the exact same limits as a V8 engine. Lucas Wilson was also asked about why a W12 engine was really necessary for Formula One, “Well as I stated this morning, this a publicity stunt, if it does not work… well we tried”
We wait in eagerness for next season.
