LUCAS WILSON GP BUY JONAS PHIPPS FOR NEXT YEAR
Lucas Wilson Grand Prix have confirmed that a deal has been done on Jonas Phipps for 3 Million pounds. The Ingram driver had been eyed by many teams, including the championship leaders, Franklin F1.
Andy Davies, the chief engineer in the LWGP garage confirmed that talks were also in place between Molto Veloce driver James Harding. We spoke to Team Owner Lucas Wilson this morning: “After the Spanish GP we decided to make a descion on which driver we were choosing for next year, we made an offer, a sizeable one, to James Harding, but he decided that we were not the team for him. We looked at a number of drivers and Jonas Phipps really stood out, he will be a great assest to the team. We chose a great driver, F1 fans sometimes don’t understand why we pick who we pick, but they have to know that F1 is a business for us and we have to progress and Jonas will certainly help us do that”
Jonas Phipps will partner the promising driver Carson Davenport for next year.
