What mode are you practicing in? Time Trial? Free Practice? Because I can’t get anywhere near those times! Best I’ve managed on Primes is 1:33:6

Career mode practice. In fairness, I do use some assists [tc being the big one] that you probably dont, but historically that hasn’t made me quicker than anyone on here….

There’s some awesome set ups out there though, which really help. Check out these sites: http://f1carsetup.com/ or http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/forums/f1-2011-setups.100/?order=title&direction=asc

As far as set up goes I’m pretty happy with what I’ve got, in third practice today I was able to get my times down to the 1:31s consistently now I’m on the options so hopefully I’ll be ok for race day

Yeah, practice makes perfect! I’d been at it for quite some time before I got anywhere near the late 1:30s….

I have had 3 practice sessions thus far, I plan to have 1 more on Monday but my times so far have been
    1:30:533
    1:30:924
    1:30:570
So I am hoping to maintain this for qualifying and see how it does in the race itself. As I noticed a lack of race pace during melbourne

So, I just did my career race. Started in 7th after a horribly wet qualifying…

Went prime / prime / option on a 50% race distance 28 lap race. We’ll be on 22 laps on Monday, so will be slightly different there I guess.

I managed to win the race, but not sure about my pace. First 10 lap stint, I had a fastest lap in the late 1:34s, but most laps were in mid 1:35 – 1:36 range, which seemed slow, but heavy fuel loads.

In my second prime stint, a further 11 laps, I managed to lower the fastest lap to the low 1:33s marker, and was lapping consistently in the mid 1:33 – late 1:34 range

Then on the Options, I got the fastest lap down to 1:31.9, and of my 7 laps, 2 were in the 1:31s, a further 2 in the 1:32s, and then I had 2 laps where I was held up by traffic and in the 1:34s and a lap in the 1:33s, where I made a couple of small errors.

Think my race pace is okay, but not sure it’s going to be front running pace come Monday night. The good news is that I got to the end with no penalties, and indeed barely any warnings for corner cutting, so a clean race should get me some solid points come Monday!

I got some practice sessions in today, not much, but some. I was able to run in the 1:31-1:32 range over a prime stint, 1:28-1:30 on option stints. I’m feeling confident I can bounce back from my terrible start in Australia.

Not a great race weekend for me at all. Although I am happy to have salvaged points from the race weekend which was a relief seeing the disastrous start I had.
I am glad I managed to go from 15th all the way to 4th, I find it an achievement to do as a rookie this year but the stewards were pretty hefty with my penalties so 9th it is, 1 above the 10th I set myself once I got spun on lap 1)
Now to prepare for Istanbul as it is a track I really do not enjoy

    An absolutely unacceptable race.

    Qualified 8th.

Got a good start and took it easy into the first two corners, a collision ahead meant I came out 4th, Managing to keep up with the cars ahead, I noticed that one car wasn’t giving the other room down the back straight and was pushing them on to the grass, on the second lap both of them went off with Kevin quitting. I was now in second place (a dream position) Driving well I expertly defended from Snake, who had recovered from the off for a few laps despite the fact he was much faster then me, that was until he (unfairly in my opinion) squeezed me right on to the grass going into turn 6 making me lose control and took the position. After that and with a decent gap behind me I saved fuel and took it easy, El Timeel (whatever) came up behind me the lap I was going to pit and used me as a breaking point down in to turn 15 off the back straight, losing me more time. I pitted onto the primes knowing I would conserve the tyres and then go for it in the final stint. I put my fuel mixture up to high and set some personal bests in the high 32′s low 33′s and came out just ahead of El Timeul who trying to take me off again ended up spinning off himself. Lt Alfred was catching me up on his options gradually and despite being on the primes by the end of my stint my tyres were shot and while I tried to defend I ended up going wide (no doubt out of fear) and he respectfully took the position. I carried on eeking as much out of the tyres as I could when McWoblin closed upon me with several other drivers. Down the back straight I took my position pretty early leaving plenty of room on the outside but was ploughed into from behind losing me three more positions. Failing to keep up with them I pitted for the primes for my final stint with the intention of gunning it until the end. Came out among a couple fighting. I had the line into turn 2 but was spun by Carnivorous losing me more time and positions, and later on in the lap was spun trying to overtake somebody else. At this point I was livid, and unable to focus, I had dropped from 4th to 12th and any advantage from pitting early on to fresher tyres with fuel turned high was gone. I could have perhaps salvaged a point but I quit in disgust.

When I joined this group I did so on the assumption that the racing would be clean and fair, instead it felt worse then playing online with randoms particularly because of the time and effort I had invested in learning the track properly in preparation for a good race. I lost the chance to fight for third with Alfred who was on a contrary strategy, and lost the chance for a good points position. Not happy at all.

That was a interesting race in both ends.

Start made a good start and was around 10th place and was well on the inside then got shoved off onto the grass by a Red bull/Torro Rosso and couldnt get him off me or back on the track and he eventually spun me. I ended up racing thevortex for 3 laps and had a brilliant back and forth battle very clean. Eventually got the better of him and joined the pack of cars till the 1st stoppers cam in. This left myself and i think Infernojim in the Sauber and had a brilliant battle for 3rd and got the better of him just before he pitted, i ran wide to avoid a collision and got a 10 sec penalty for this. Shouldnt have got it as i only defended my position and only kept it because he pitted rather than continue. Came out the pits and had some space to put in some stonking laps by my standards and spent the last 5 laps battling with McWobblin right up till the line on the last lap was the most exciting battle i’ve had on F1 and thanks for being very clean as ever.

Carvorous pope “AKA jeasus” erm no not quite Moment of the season

    Great start.
Guys ahead were pushing each other off the track and I moved into P3.
Great race up to that point.
Got pushed off the track twice, received to penalties, inacceptable driving, turned the console off.

I had another random disconnect there, at least i hadn’t practiced as much as i had planned to. My internet has been shocking recently so what I saw from my point of view is probably different to what other people saw.
From my point of view I snuck up the inside of Snake at the first corner and took second then nothing much happened for a few laps until I disconnected. (When I disconnected I was 5s behind Lemon and 5 seconds ahead of gameprotage)
