F1 Fanatic

Didn’t great too bad of a start, I had Mad dog infront of me and knew he always made good starts, so concentrated on trying to follow him past my team mate who qualified two places above me. Along the first straight I tried to go up the outside of Kevin but was squeezed out and had to stick to 5th as I went into the first corner. I was then hit slightly from behind, didn’t lose any positions but it put me a couple of seconds behind the three way fight for second.

I stayed in fifth for the majority of the first stint apart from battling with Mad Dog for a number of laps before my pit stop. After everyone had pitted I was still behind Mad Dog but had moved to fourth because of ms20′s problems.

My tyres were wearing quicker than I would have hoped and with around 5 laps left ms20 got past me. I stayed with him as he challenged Mad Dog for 3rd and I was able to get past the Lotus when Mad Dog made a mistake and went into the gravel. I’m guessing the gravel messed with his brakign distance and he hit me going into the final chicane, I spun and went down to around 6th. After I righted myself my tyres were completely gone and I had to try to fight off Strunk who was on fresher and better tyres than me. I was surprised that I was able to keep him behind me for as long as I did but I spun off under pressure from the Ferrari with one lap left, moving from a potential podium position to I think 7th within 5 laps of the race end

Right… This was discussed ages ago… I thought up the idea of a British GP get together. The responses I got were from

I’m still up for it, not sure where i’m going to get the funds though, I also promised some mates I’d go to download festival with them next year too

probably a no for me too. I’m more than likely to go to Austin next year which on top of my big February holiday means i need to save money and holiday wherever possible!

@MadDogMolloy I’m definitely interested in meeting up for 2013 British GP. Unfortunately I won’t be able to make tonight’s race and might not be able to make any races again this year. My wife is a Florist so December is a manic month but gonna do my best to make Canada.

Apologies I haven’t mentioned this on the forum (I forgot!)

Qualified 2nd, I got through just before the chequered flag on my last lap an went faster than Lemon in the first sector but spun trying to go way too fast in the corner before the tunnel.
My tyres felt awful in the first few corners and McWoblin nudged me in the braking zone to the corner before the hairpin and I ended up 6th. Pitted on lap 4 with the crazy amount of wear then moved back up the field to 3rd I think before pitting again then coming back through. Pitted for the 3rd time on lap 31 and maintained the gap to McWoblin until the end. Finishing 2nd.
Made a few mistakes but mostly small except for spinning in casino square towards the end. Also thanks to the lapped cars for getting well out of the way.
