Patch is out for the Xbox 360 at long last. The full list of features are here: http://community.codemasters.com/t5/F1-2012-General-Discussion/F1-2012-Console-Patch-2-News/m-p/135068#U135068

The big fixes, for me anyway, are the reduction in frequency of rain in all sessions (and hopefully the removal of rain when it is still sunny), the ability to turn Parc Ferme off, and custom setups being correctly loaded in career/co-op when loading up a race. Now at least, we can practice for races properly.

That really was some kind of bonzai move and I apologies to the person I ran into which then caused others to be taken out as well.

I’m intrigued by the “understeer” one as that has been killing me. Gonna practice properly for the next round. primary goal is to not get lapped!! So less than 3 seconds off the pace….

edit: just realised the vacant seat is with @Darren Levin in the sauber,
ive sent a message and added. can meet online at any time, but thinking an hour before quaily to do practice runs, think in a sauber my main goal for me is race pace rather then going all out for quailly and compromising gears and set up, but rather demanding a certain route, id rather be under your wing as a rookie driver, and as you’ve done two races your plan/strategy works for me,

    @Lemon @Jonny705 @strunk 27 @infernojim @mrgrieves @Darren Archer @McWoblin @MadDogMolloy @Lt Alfred @powderFinger @Ms20 @SparkyIceMan @gameprotage @CSCOTTY @Darren Levin

ive added some of you but easier for you to add me L3LACKHAVVK

Q: How are you feeling about the upcoming season?
having never driven with an online team, a bit apprehensive only due to under performing at some tracks, Monaco being one of them, im not bad but certainly not as good as the front runners here.

Q: What expectations and targets do you have for this championship?
not last but ill take it as it comes, im not a sore looser and if i am last every time then ill have to try harder!

Q: (For those returning from last season) How you can improve compared to last season?
Q: (For newcomers) What can you add to the championship? What sort of driver are you?
cool and calm, think ahead and hope strategy will help, like a battle and good in wheel to wheel fights

Q: Are there any tracks on the calendar that will suit you
    spain, india

Q: What do you think about your team mate?
    not spoke/raced yet

Q: How will you and your team mate work together to get maximum points for the team? Any tactics or strategy?
listen to what my team mate is doing/running, make planned pitstops, to avoid us both in the pits together,

Q: Who will be your biggest rival?
    people in front of me!

Q: Who will be the surprise package this season?
    me? na not sure!

Q: Are you using a steering wheel or a pad?
pad, but a wheel if i feel im not getting the best against other drivers

Q: Will you be recording the races to share on the forum?
    unlikley.

Q: Do you have a headset or if not, will you be getting one?
    yes tritton 720

Q: What are you expecting from the season opener?
bag as many points as possible, get to know you guys and my team mate

Q: What is your prediction for the top 3 in Australia?
    unknown

Qualified 4th but lost a bit of time going wide on the penultimate corner.
I think I was 4th until I went wide at the end of the first corner then spun twice and lost tonnes of time and ended up at the back of a train.
Most of the rest of the laps were all similar with a few mistakes on the old options I think I was 6th after pit stops. At the end me, y2j and Lt Alfred were all together for some time. Alfred at the back and me in the middle. I got past a couple of times including a very scary overtake on the 1st corner but I had low grip and struggled to stay ahead. I tagged y2j on the exit of a corner as I didn’t have time to maintain speed and evade him then we tangled and lost a lot of time and finished 6th. Hard work for 8 points.

Both qualifying and the race will be uploaded soon.

The race recording ended on lap 13 after sector 2 because I forgot to turn on flight mode and received a call, I tried to set it back up but I had lost to much time to y2siak. -.-

Best race of the season for me, even if it was another 10th place finish!

I did some practice on primes, and got a 1:38s lap in, which was about 3.5s off the pace. I was a bit annoyed as had a second in hand on the options but then made a mistake and my lap was aborted, reckon I would have got a mid 1:37s lap, and around 8th / 9th on the grid, rather than 11th where I ended up.

Got loads of wheel spin at the start, which was a bit odd, but I put it down to using my pad rather than wheel / pedals this week (given my form, this may be something I continue!!!)

I was cautious at the first corner, which has worked well so far this season for me, as I’ve avoided the carnage and picked up places inn the starts. However, this time it didn’t work out. First I got collected as part of @MadDogMolloy‘s first corner problems. All of that gave me a penalty for nothing, which was annoying.

I broke at my normal place for turn 4 (or is it 3) an @MadDogMolloy in front of me in 9th broke much earlier than I expected and I hit him in the rear – so I apologise for that. Again I got a penalty for this, and I thought it a little harsh, but certainly not in the same way the first one was!

After that first lap drama I found myself back where I started, in 11th place. I picked up a few places due to further dramas in the opening few laps and briefly ran in 8th place, and was pleased to see that my race pace was averaging only 3 to 5 seconds off of the fastest lap times being posted by the Mclarens – a vast improvement on the first 2 races.

I was driving consistently, making a few minor mistakes, but no major offs, and reasonably consistent lap times, meaning that I was keeping the newbies behind me, and able to fight with @DarrenArcher throughout the race.

I had some fun with my team mate as he recovered through the field and we got some trademark Ferrari drafting action going as he passed me down the main straight with DRS – although the top speed wasn’t drastic so I played the gentleman and lifted a touch early to let him pass without incident.

I managed to stretch my first (and only) stop to the end of Lap 12 and came out in 10th place. After a few laps Daz Archer came out ahead of me, by a few seconds and I caught him up as he was struggling with cold primes.

I got passed him when he made a mistake, and then he rammed me in the backside into corner 3, in a similar move to the one I got a penalty for against @MadDogMolloy, but evidently didn’t get a penalty for him. His pace was marginally better than me and he pulled out 5 seconds with a few llaps to go. However, he made a few mistakes, and was seemingly struggling with tyres, which made the last 2 laps really exciting as I was catching him up but not quite close enough. I knew in the back of my mind I had 20 seconds to be added to my time anyway.

All in all a great race for me, only lapped once and not until after Lap 20, and much closer to the pace meaning I could actually race people throughout the race! Maybe using my controller is the way forward!!

Looking forward to the race next week now! Good fun lads, hope the sprint races were good….

    same story for me,
in practice my best was 1:37.09 but in qualifying i failed to hook it up on 3 occasions, ended up 12th with a 1:41.

i knew ive always got off the line clean and im good at 1st corners, and in doing well there got me to 6th. as i was on primes my target was lap 18. but i got rammed/pushed round by maddogmolloy a few laps in the first time then again 5 laps later by strunk. any way i was 2/3 seconds up a lap going in to the 12th lap,and i was gaining fast, those in front of me were on options pitting and or slow, but if i held 6/8th place as i planned i could have been quicker on a new set of options to race the las 10 laps. still it was a good race, dazza was dsq, not sure why?
next time ill be taking a different route/strategy and hope i can place higher.
also i do applogise about my mic, i have no idea why it was doing that

Best qualifying of the season so far for me with 3rd, I think I could have gone faster than I did but the McLaren’s were around half a second in front so I don’t think I could have made it onto the front row.

Both me and Johnny got a good start and past Lemon who seemed to bog down. Unfortunately I followed Johnny wide on the first corner and clipped Mad Dog coming back on to the track which put me into a spin and back into last place for the third race in a row.

I spent the next couple of laps making up places and was up to around 6th or 7th until Dazza Archer knocked me off on the hairpin after the long back straight, This put me back down to around 9th. I spent around 6 or 7 laps behind Mad Dog. I’ve always been quite good around here but I’ve never been great at overtaking, the only place to make a safe pass, on the DRS straight, I always get a bad entrance on to so I’m never close enough. Mad Dog eventually made a mistake and I was able to pass a lap or two before my first stop. I slowly opened the gap and by the time we’d both pitted I think I was aroudn 5 seconds infront of him.

I then caught Mark and Y2J who were fighting over 4th. While I think I was faster than both of them, again I suffered from poor entrances on to the DRS straight and the three of us stayed together for what must have been at least 6 laps with Mark and Y2J occasionally trading positions while I watched from half a second down the road.

On the second to last lap I got a good exit and was right behind Mark with DRS, I was able to pass him and line up well behind Y2J for the start of the final lap. He went wide and I was able to dive down the inside, taking 4th. I decided that if either of them pushed hard to get back pass I would let them have it as I already had a ten second penalty from the start of the race, however I think the two of them must have come together, by the second sector I had a gap of 9 seconds to them. I risked running out of fuel by turning up the engine and gunned it for the fial few corners. When I crossed the line I kept them both 10 seconds behind, keeping 4th.

I think I need to avoid first lap incidents, while todays was purely my fault, the last two I;ve just been in the wrong place at the wrong time I think. If I keep my nose clean I don’t see any reason I can’t be consistently challenging for a podium

    DOTD: Johnny. Broke Lemon’s streak!
