Stewards decision – Vitreouschain
After two days of discussions, the stewards have come to a joint decision on the incidents concerning @vitreouschain.
We feel that @vitreouschain has been involved in far too many incidents over the past eight races, three of which occurred in Canada.
These often occur when cars attempt to lap vitreouschain. Rather than being courteous and moving off the racing line at the sight of the blue flags, vitreouschain has made it difficult for others to overtake. When lapping, other drivers have been taken out, blocked or rear ended after overtaking vitreouschain throughout both qualifying sessions and races. There have also been several incidents at the start and during the races where vitreouschain has got on the brakes too late.
Vitreouschain was provided with a couple of verbal warnings in the lobby during race events due to these offences being repeated. I also provided him with a warning on these forums.
Vitreouschain was involved in three different incidents throughout the Canada event with Lt Alfred, Y2J and Odin’s Revenge. All affected their race weekend in some form and as a panel we thought this was three incidents too many. We also felt that no apology was provided until this matter was brought up in the forums.
We felt that the incidents needed to be looked at according to the following rules on the F1F Xbox WC wiki page:
-The race stewards have the power to look at any incidents or cases of reckless driving that have happened on track.
-Drivers are free to report incidents they have witnessed of reckless and dirty driving.
-Players will be docked points if they constantly break the rules
As a result of the repeat offences in the past, the warnings provided to the driver and the incidents in Canada, we felt that action needed to be taken and that a points reduction would not have been the best method of doing this.
We came to the conclusion that instead a one race ban would be more appropriate and take place with immediate effect. This means vitreouschain will not be able to race with us in Valencia (the next race after the week break). However he will be invited to join us again from Silverstone onwards.
Taking into account the repeat incidents in the Canadian Gp, the stewards have also decided to disqualify vitreouschain from the race. He will lose the four points he recieved for finishing 8th.
@Vitreouschain – We want you to race with us but you need to be more consistent with your driving and learn from any mistakes you make. You need to ensure you are aware of the others drivers around you, especially if you are being lapped. We’re not doing this on purpose, we want you to be part of this group but at the same time we just want everyone to race clearly and fairly. Please bear in mind that if any one of us did the same, they too would be penalised. You will be welcome to rejoin us for the British Gp in just over 2 weeks time. If you can see im playing F1 2012 and you ever wanted to have some races online or just practice, let me know and I can come on and join you.
Infernojim brought up in conversation that we need a proper system in place for dangerous driving offences. The casual sprint races taking place on Monday might provide a good opportunity to review our policies.
