Standings after Italy! (and Australia lol)
Where did that come from? Not sure if Lemon was just messing around, understandably, under the assumption that with a 26-point lead, the title was pretty much wrapped up – or whether it was just a bad race, but either way I’ve never seen him make so many errors in one race.
I don’t really know how I won that one. No practice, no quali time, no interest. When I dropped back to last after the first turn, I expected nothing more than to enjoy working my way up to maybe third. I was so stunned to emerge from the pits in the lead that I lost all concentration. Odin was catching, Lemon was setting quicker times on the primes than I was on option, and I kept missing the chicanes without any warning.
CM really do need to sort out monza though. You can practically straightline the second chicane and cut Ascari and get away with it, whilst shaving a good second off your time.
There must have been a load of mistakes made when I pitted though, because I was always in a battle for maybe fourth, yet other than Odin, no-one was around after my stop.
The title won’t be the only talking point on Monday, though. Three points separate Daza, y2j and Odin with fourth up for grabs, and there’s a pretty epic four-way fight for the almighty prize of highest person on 0 points. Topcarper almost escaped that tussle in Italy, but it wasn’t to be.
I was planning to give GTA IV one last run on Monday. That’ll have to wait, there’s a title up for grabs. Given that Lemon and I have shared the race victories since Korea, and 17 overall this season, chances are whoever wins on Monday will win the title.
