Q: How are you feeling about the upcoming season?
Really excited to be starting again from scratch. The addition of the 100% races and the reorganised calendar has the feeling of a fresh new championship – even though we are now in season 4 of the series.
Q: What expectations and targets do you have for this championship?
Last season was my most successful of the three, so naturally I’m aiming higher for this season. The top 4 are too strong (@lemon @jonny705 @powderfinger and @ms20) so if I want to grab a few podiums, I need to take advantage of any off days they might have.
Q: (For those returning from last season) How you can improve compared to last season?
My aim is to go one better than last season and get 5th in the standings. But this would require overhauling my arch rival @ljkobrien (Alfred). I’m sure we’ll meet each other on the track quite often this season.
Q: Are there any tracks on the calendar that will suit you?
Bahrain, Canada, Hungary, Valencia, India
Q: What do you think about your team mate?
@zsmokey was new to the championship midway through the last season but it didn’t take him long to adjust to his surroundings. A clean fair and quick racer. Really looking forward to working with him in order to push Lotus further up the standings.
Q: How will you and your team mate work together to get maximum points for the team? Any tactics or strategy?
We worked together well last season as he was my teammate for a few races. I hope we can share setups, discuss strategy during the race and compete in practice race simulations before the races (time allowing).
Q: Who will be your biggest rival?
For me there are two.
In terms of the championship, me and @mrgrieves (y2j) are so difficult to split. I think our average race finishing position was identical to 2 decimal places last season!!! If he didn’t miss a few races, I think it might have come down to a 1 lap shootout to determine 6th place in the championship. Although we didn’t meet all that much on the track (which is a bit odd, now I think about it)…..
On the track, it has to be @ljkobrien (Alfred). We had quite a few close battles during season 3, more often than not resulting in a coming together (China, Spain, Canada, Germany, Abu Dhabi, Brazil – and they are the ones i can remember!!)
Q: Who will be the surprise package this season?
@power looked good towards the end of the sprint championship last week so I expect him to spring a surprise. Although I hope it’s going to be @infernojim . I miss fighting with him in the midfield so hope he can come back – all guns blazing!
Q: Are you using a steering wheel or a pad?
Pad. If it weren’t for the fact that there are consoles coming out soon, I might consider a wheel but don’t want to get a good one and find its not compatible with ps4/neXtBox.
Q: Will you be recording the races to share on the forum?
I’ll try to upload my famous highlight packages but won’t have enough memory on my phone to record the 100% races. I could get a capture card but again don’t want to get one if its not compatible with the new consoles.
Q: Do you have a headset or if not, will you be getting one?
I got one…. And it’s ready for another classic season full of @ljkobrien ‘s sound bites :-P .. Last week started well – someone screaming like they had been stabbed when they crashed at Canada was a personal highlight!
Q: What are you expecting from the season opener?
Hopefully the first ever full 16 car grid…. And a race just as good as the real one today!
Q: What is your prediction for the top 3 in Bahrain?
1. @lemon – it has to be! I think he’ll wipe the floor as always!
2. @jonny705 – been putting in the practice and sounds determined to take the fight to lemon this season.
3. @ms20 – with Omorfos Kevin not attending tomorrows race, it has to be mark. Hopefully I’ll be somewhere near him!
Other Bahrain predictions-A crash at the tight first corner perhaps? Me and @ljkobrien nearly coming to blows again? Probably.
