@powderfinger within the next few weeks hopefully. Need to leave a buildup period to entice new drivers too.

Thanks for all your responses so far. Will have a look at and collate results and the various questions raised after tomorrows deadline.

@mnmracer @carnivorouspope @kvothe although you haven’t driven a whole season, grateful if you could provide your votes using the races you have driven in as well as any other footage you might have seen. Also more importantly could you leave your feedback for the questions I provided above together with your votes for which races you would like to see next season.

@lemon could you also provide your answers to the feedback questions and your additional race votes.

@ms20 @arowan would you be joining us next season? You can vote for which circuits you would like! :-)

Yeh that was my question, I wont be able to do most of July, so my suggestion is to start in August :) I know thats quite far away, just my preference.

I have kind of taken the role of stats man :) But I’m kind of a geek that way so I don’t mind…

Is there anything people would like to see as far as the tables etc. Here’s a few ideas.

Include the pole count, like in Kyle’s original table, DotD also.
Qualifying times sheet, with differences displayed graphically like on tv
If people posted things like their tire strategy, I could do an F1F style race analysis :)
to the extreme, people that record the race could send me the lap times when watching the race back, and I could produce everyone’s lap time charts overlaid on 1 graph.

@McWoblin That sounds great in theory but I think would be hard to follow up in practice but sure I would try it.

    Two Races: India and Singapore

I’ll be racing next season, just plugged my xbox back in.

  • Profile picture of MadDogMolloy MadDogMolloy said 11 months, 3 weeks ago:

@ms20 which two races would u like to add to the calendar?

  • Profile picture of ms20 ms20 said 11 months, 3 weeks ago:

@maddogmolloy Singapore and China. edit: I’ll change that to Nurburgring.

  • Profile picture of Lemon Lemon said 11 months, 3 weeks ago:

Yes of course, sorry was going to add my ‘next season’ part but forgot……
Just first I would like to thank all you guys for providing some clean and incredibly enjoyable races! :)…It’s a real shame kevin wasn’t able to upload his part 3 as I really would have liked to have seen exactly what happened… Nevertheless I feel very happy to have taken the title and I’m sure Kevin won’t make it easy for me to retain it!

    Next season

Would you be interested in another championship? Yes
What did you like about this season? clean driving and very competitive!
What could be improved? not too sure, I dont really see too many flaws

Would you like a full 19 race season or keep it similar to how it is? I’d say similar to how it is as 19 seems like a bit much…

If similar which. 2 races would you like to see: I’m really not too fussed but I’ll say
    1: nurburgring

    2: Singapore

Are there any drivers in this league that use no assists? (we also run a low assists league)
I’m part of a League on RaceDepartment.com and we are still taking people for our next season (starting in 2 weeks). A great group of clean racers focused on getting the most enjoyment out of this game as possible.
It seems like some of you are taking a brake over the summer, but maybe there are some others in the group that still want to race. We have a variety of racing that goes on every week, and just about any night of the week there is always some of our members doing ad-hock races organized through our paddock chat thread. There are about 60 of us so there is always someone around.
Our league races will run every two weeks on Sunday nights 8pm GMT+1

We are running a few practice races in the next couple weeks before the season starts. Turkey, Hungary, Nurburgring, and Monaco.
    Come check us out!

Personally I’m happy staying here, I’ve seen some sites that do big leagues such as the one you’re from @Karl Fuss but I’m not sure I could commit to more than one night a week as we do here, enjoy the relaxed take of the F1FXC :)

If we do start a new season, will everyone be able to pick a new team?

I’d like to use the Sauber or McLaren, a car with a stiffer suspension, the Ferrari was terrible in my opinion.

    Next season

I’ve taken at look at all your ideas and feedback. These are the main points…

    1. The biggest point involves the structure of a race weekend. @mcwoblin mentioned having a sprint race and a feature race at each event. Race distance – 20% and 40%. sprint on random grid, but full qualifying for the feature. The biggest issue that came up was the amount of time it would take.

My opinion – I like the idea. But I think the time issue is important.. I know @mnmracer is ahead of us by one hour. Wouldn’t like to put off new drivers if they are in a similar situation. Also think it takes away from the big event of a single race. As @lkjobrien mentioned we normally had a casual series of sprint races after each race this season (with those left in the lobby at the end of the race). I’m happy to stick with that and have fun in this sprint championship coming up soon (more details below). However if people want to switch to 2 races at each event I’m happy with that.

@mcwoblin not sure about your random grid idea for both races as I think people enjoy qualifying. It’s the only point in the event that you can go flat out. But again I’m happy to implement if the majority want it. I like the idea of the random grid for the Sprint race mind.. @powderfinger I’ll take a look at your reverse race results idea if we follow through with the 2 race idea.

Ok, as this is a democracy….2 options: 1 vote each

Please declare your vote from the following:
Option 1- keep the structure as it is (with casual sprint races afterwards if people hang around)
Option 2 – 2 race event – Feature race followed by Sprint race (40/20)

Can you please post your response by simply stating option1 or option 2 please

    2. Many of you wanted a larger no of drivers to compete next season. I’m going to create a new forum for season 2 and create a build-up period of say 2 weeks to allow newcomers the opportunity to sign up. I’ll create a season preview guide and I welcome ideas from you that would build excitement for the new season. I will advertise our championship on the Codemasters forums where I will include videos of races we have had in season 1. @ljkobrien said he would be happy to contribute to the discussion on there and add a second voice. @powderfinger Are you happy with me using your race videos? They are by far the best quality.

    3. @Mrgrieves – like your idea for a full race season but the general conesus is to keep the season length similar. The one problem might be summer holidays. I know @ljkobrien is off for a while, as is @mcwoblin. I’m away first 2 weeks of July. @mcwoblin think an August start would be too late… f1 2012 would come out in September and distract from completing the end of the season. We will kick off within the next few weeks and maybe take a mid-season break in July.

Does anyone have any holidays planned? Now might be a good time to declare so we can fit it in with the calendar for the new season.

    4. Monday still seems to be the best day for everyone. Sorry @infernojim… maybe get the other half involved? :-)

    5. @mcwoblin I like your stat ideas. Feel free to try them out in the first couple of races of season 2. If you need information from us.. let us know. Thank you for helping out with the championship standings by the way!

    6. @powderfinger I will be looking to introduce an idea that the ps3 championship came up with… Everyone has 3 votes for the team they want to drive for next season. Number 1 being the preference, number 2 next best etc.. The seats will then be dished out in terms of championship position in season 1. For example, after everyone has made their choices… @Lemon gets first pick, then @powderfinger , @lkjobrien and so on…going further down the list if we get to a driver who’s first option is a seat at a team which is full then we implment their 2nd option. New drivers will be given the first come first serve option (after all of us have got our seats of course). Think this is a fair way of distributing seats as I thought many of you would have wanted to change teams. If anyone has any other ideas, I’ll take a look at them.

I’m also thinking that maybe once teams have been confirmed, you and your teammate would be allowed to agree a team name if desired. E.g. If you are at Renault and want to call it Lotus, if you are at Force India and want to call it Jordan… even random names will be allowed!

    Sprint Race Championship

    Possible dates for this:

    Wednesday 6 June
    Thursday 7 June
    Tuesday 12 June
    Wednesday 13 June
    Thursday 14 June
    Saturday 16 June
    Sunday 17 June
    Monday 18 June

These are the dates I am free. does anyone have a preference?

Ok so there are 3 things that need your responses above. The race event idea, any holidays and your date for the sprint race championship. Let me know by midnight Tuesday 5 June!

    Have a good extended weekend!

  • Profile picture of strunk27 strunk27 said 11 months, 3 weeks ago:

@Kyle I’m a fan of the current format (OPTION #1) of running a 40% race distance and whoever wants to stick around for sprint races afterwards can. I enjoy qualifying too much for the other option. I’ll be gone during the first weekend of July to register for classes at the college I’m attending this fall and I’ll also be gone this coming weekend from June 7th-June 11th to attend the Canadian Grand Prix! It’s not a huge deal to miss the Sprint Races for me so if it works for everyone else go ahead and do those dates. Looking forward to another fun season!

    Also for preference for teams:
    1. Sauber
    2. Lotus (Renault in F1 2011)
    3. Mclaren

    OPTION 1

  • Profile picture of Lt Alred Lt Alred said 11 months, 3 weeks ago:

I think it might be easier if we’re looking to boost numbers if we stuck to the current form (if it ain’t broke…) and I like the preference idea for teams. Once you’ve made a thread for on the codemasters forum, care to post a link on here?

I’m good for most of those sprint races, but definately won’t be able to make the 6th or 7th (download festival baby!) and the 17th and 18th are a maybe depending on time.

    Car preference:
    1. Lotus-Renault
    2. McLaren
    3. Force India

  • Profile picture of McWoblin McWoblin said 11 months, 3 weeks ago:

I’m happy to keep the format as it is, just throwing some ideas in the mix. So OPTION #1

I will also be away the first 2 weeks in July, so might be good to schedule the break there. I will also be away for the last, but I guess I’ll just have to miss the race as I will have taken my drop already.

So will the sprint Championship happen all on one day, or a weekly thing. Don’t quite understand the dates youv’e listed, is this the proposed start dates?
