23rd August 2011, 14:28 at 2:28 pm #176130IcthyesParticipantThis thread inspired me to buy this for my PS2 and then I forgot all about it!
In my first season I was picked up by Williams after doing well in the Superlicence tests. I did badly in Australia but won from pole at Interlagos in the soaking wet. Did okay in San Marino and then I won in Monaco after everyone kept crashing. Came 3rd in Spain and got a good result in Canada from pole after I came together with Irvine at the start.
Then I was offered a drive from McLaren and took it. Was rubbish in France but alright at Silverstone, before winning again in Austria. Hockenheim was a nightmare but I bounced back in Hungary. Scored points at Spa before a podium in Italy and another win at the Nurburgring which confirmed me as champion. Good result in Malaysia, won in Japan
2000 season and I re-signed for McLaren. Started okay in Australia but scored no points after a very scruffy race, got a second place in Brazil to leave me 14 points behind Schumacher. Disaster at Imola left me with no points and then I failed to even qualify for Silverstone. Got a podium in Spain before winning again in atrocious conditions at the Nurburgring. Pole in Canada turned into a bad race with no points, but Schumacher failed to score either.
France saw me make a bad start and get involved in a pile-up before coming back to 2nd. Then in the last corner I tried to get passed Villeneuve but clipped him and went spinning, finishing 4th by reversing over the line…
I then came second to Wurz in Austria and won in Hungary. With a few bad races from Schumacher I’m now 13 points ahead.
