I’d really love to and I’m debating since I don’t have the radical (and trying to keep from spending money at the moment). It does sound like a blast!

I did realize that as I was typing up a thing to egg you into joining us, but I realized the timing doesn’t work for you :/. Unfortunately, it’s one of those things that came out of necessity since it began aimed at Ohio club. Getting everyone to agree on a time was like herding cats and Monday night just made the most sense for those with families and work during the day, but major series that they like to race on the weekend. Otherwise I’d love it on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon so that Europe can join in. We might change it if there’s a huge amount of interest outside the US.

Sooooo the Ohio Road Series has pretty well petered out. Sadly, it seems there’s not much interest in my state for road racing!

BUT, after looking at the Collantine Cup Season 2 post that MG made, it really got me wishing to get a league going all over again.

So, how many people do we have here using iRacing still and would anyone want to get us a little championship over the winter to entertain ourselves? I’d be willing to host the races.

Not sure we’d have enough people, I’d be up for it as usual though :)

Aww, I so would if I were still subscribed.

i’d be in, but really cbf.. haven’t played in a month or so

Wish I woulda known you guys had let your subscription slip or I’d have come here and said something. They had a sale over black Friday weekend of 50 bucks for an entire year’s subscription. I snapped that up.

I got an email about that, but I’m currently so deeply entrenched in http://www.reallyrubbishracing.co.uk that I don’t have the time. Although that offer did seem pretty damn good, even if I didn’t play regularly.

I’ve got an original Xbox steering wheel and pedals coming to me this month too, so I’ll have a much better setup than the MadKatz Microcon wheel that I used before.

Bump for new build! Just tried the Radical and Skippies so far, Radical is broken and Skippy is fixed o/.

What are you running this season @joey-poey ? I need a new home!

  • Profile picture of Joey-Poey Joey-Poey said 1 year, 4 months ago:

I am running the skippy (which is as fun as ever. the schedule is kinda sucky, but the car feels so great, I can’t miss it!). Also running a private league in the SRF. I’d love it if you joined us, George :). We picked 16:00 – 18:00 GMT every other Sunday so that both sides of the pond can participate. We’ve got a thread here: http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/1840989.page with more info if it piques your curiosity.

Aaaaand because I guess I don’t feel like I have enough on plate, I’ve thrown my hat in the ring with the Continental Endurance Sports Car Series. http://www.wix.com/contienduranceseries/cescs#! It’s mimicking the real life Continental Tire Series which is the support for Grand Am. I caught the endurance bug and despite loathing the MX-5, I’m running a season in it. Unfortunately, sign ups are closed there for this season so you won’t be able to join me on that one :/

OH! And did you see they’re holding a premiere series for the Skips?? It starts in March. http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/1841758.page

Looks like I’ll be heading back to skippies next season then :). I’ll try SRF again, I’ve never enjoyed driving it much before though.

  • Profile picture of Joey-Poey Joey-Poey said 1 year, 4 months ago:

I actually think the SRF isn’t too far removed from the Skip in terms of driving style. I’ve found going back and forth between them doesn’t slow me down that much and is an easy adjustment.

So I re-subscribed last night. I bought myself the now discontinued official Xbox 360 wheel and pedals over Xmas, and was looking forward to driving 2.0 for the first time.

Turns out I’ve got a lot of re-learning to do. I appear to be even worse now then I was when I first started!

If you need any help, lemme know :). Also, don’t forget in the lower cars that you need to re-load the baseline setup now that the new tire model is on them. Most are very hard to drive with the old setups.

  • Profile picture of ajokay ajokay said 1 year, 4 months ago:

Oh right, I had no idea about that. All I’ve ever really driven is the MX5 and occasionally the Street Stock. But the MX5… every time I turn, the thing spins, and braking feels so disconnected, so I push the pedal harder and it goes from not slowing down at all to instantly locking up.

Where are these setups so I can re load them? (seems odd that the game hasn’t done that by default)

  • Profile picture of Joey-Poey Joey-Poey said 1 year, 4 months ago:

I think it doesn’t default because it keeps the same setup on the car even going from track to track. That way it only changes when you change it and keeps you from any surprises when showing up to a race. They probably don’t default to baseline when a new tire model is released in case someone hasn’t saved their current altered setup and don’t want to lose it for whatever reason (even though it’s probably useless with a NTM).

But anywho, when you get into a session (can be test/practice/qualify/race, whatever), there’s a tab up to the top right that says “garage.” Click that, then click “iracing setups” which will be a tab on the right side of the box. There should be one called “baseline.” Select it.

Any time they update the tire model, it’s a good idea to go back and reload the baseline, even if you have a custom setup. They recommend starting from scratch if you have your own tweaks you like to do since the car behavior may change a bit.
