    Race Update 3
    1. Downton (Lotus)
    2. Kingshark (Red Bull)
    3. Mathershaw (Ferrari)
    4. Bomeny (Ferrari)
    5. Ingram (McLaren)
    6. Varga (Sauber)
    7. Widger (McLaren)
    8. Morley (Williams)
    9. Robson (Mercedes)
    10. Chan (Sauber)
    11. Franklin (Lotus)
    12. Butler (Mercedes)
    13. Graham (Red Bull)
    14. Needham (Toro Rosso)
    15. Nykänen (Williams)
    16. Cucamest (Toro Rosso)
    17. Sunderland (Caterham)
    18. Frog (Marussia)
    19. Peacock (Marussia)
    20. Kirkham (HRT)
    Ret. d’Hazorme (Caterham)
    Ret. Haddleton (Force India)

Jamie Franklin finally makes his way passed Butler, but both have lost time, causing them to come out of the pits out of the points!
The McLaren of Widger has made excellent progress, now in 7th place, whilst Bomeny and Widger are threatening to steal the final podium spot from Mathershaw, who is still struggling.
Unfortunately for the Caterham of d’Hazorme, he has his first retirement of the season, with an alternator issue, that’s got to hurt, with the pace he had. Haddleton joins him with a gearbox failure.
Bradley Downton looks almost set to win now, only a retirement could possibly stop him now, such is his lead.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Damn those alternators :P

I think you’ve made an error guys: I’ve retired, but Alfie’s still running O_o

With Jamie out of the points, great chance to get big points, Alfie is doing well too – we are still in the constructors

    Race Result
    1. Downton (Lotus)
    2. Mathershaw (Ferrari)
    3. Ingram (McLaren)
    4. Bomeny (Ferrari)
    5. Widger (McLaren)
    6. Morley (Williams)
    7. Chan (Sauber)
    8. Franklin (Lotus)
    9. Robson (Mercedes)
    10. Butler (Mercedes)
    11. Graham (Red Bull)
    12. Nykänen (Williams)
    13. Sunderland (Caterham)
    14. Peacock (Marussia)
    15. Kirkham (HRT)
    16. Frog (Marussia)
    Ret. Kingshark (Red Bull)
    Ret. Varga (Sauber)
    Ret. Needham (Toro Rosso)
    Ret. Cucamest (Toro Rosso)

Johnny Kingshark becomes the second victim of a faulty alternator, whilst the sister team, Toro Rosso, both retire as they collide at the end of the straight in sector 1. I don’t think the boss will be too happy with them after that.
Bradley Downton takes his second victory of the season, as Mathershaw follows home 41 seconds behind, that’s the biggest gap all season, just holding off the McLaren of Ingram, who was able to pass Bomeny in the closing laps. Alfie Widger finally finishes a GP, managing to pull his way up to 5th place, which is impressive given his poor qualifying.
Nic Morley is able to finish in 6th, with both Mercedes finishing in the points as well, so they both pull a little further ahead of Caterham.
Jamie Franklin creeps up into the points, with an 8th place finish. He won’t be too happy with that, but it’s great for the Championship.

@brazil2007 Lol – too bad I can’t blame the FIA for bringing out the safety and destroying my altenator though. At least we now know we have an altenator – you know me, always there to check whether the car is built solidly. :P

    Yes! :D

Second is good :) But it still seems that the car is slow in race trim, need a drastic change

Well done Bradley! Good to see the battle for the championship is still on! :)

My lead has been cut from 26 to 18 points now, with 4 races to go, Bradley following me (with another favourite track tomorrow), and Will Ingram is now just 22 points behind me. I think the battle for the Championship is most definitely still on!
