    Race Update 1
    1. Ingram (McLaren)
    2. Downton (Lotus)
    3. Graham (Red Bull)
    4. Widger (McLaren)
    5. Kingshark (Red Bull)
    6. Varga (Sauber)
    7. Franklin (Lotus)
    8. Butler (Mercedes)
    9. Chan (Sauber)
    10. Armos (Force India)
    11. Morley (Williams)
    12. Bomeny (Ferrari)
    13. Robson (Mercedes)
    14. Nykänen (Williams)
    15. d’Hazorme (Caterham)
    16. Haddleton (Force India)
    17. Cucamest (Toro Rosos)
    18. Needham (Toro Rosso)
    19. Frog (Marussia)
    20. Hofman (HRT)
    Ret. Mathershaw (Ferrari)
    Ret. Sunderland (Caterham)
    Ret. Peacock (Marussia)
    Ret. Kirkham (HRT)

Lap 1 – Downton gets a great start for Lotus off of the soaking wet grid here in India, moving into second behind Ingram. It’s not such a great start for Mathershaw, he’s stalled! We haven’t seen that in a while, let’s hope everyone can… OH! Sunderland’s hit the back of him and Peacock is involved as well! There’s debris all over the start finish straight, and the safety car is called.

Lap 2 – The Safety Car takes the field through the pitlane as the debris is cleared on the straight, but Kirkham pulls away from the train into the HRT garage. Apparently she suffered some race-ending damage in the crash.

Lap 8 – The safety car pits, and we are underway at a wet India!

Lap 13 – Varga passes Franklin with the slipstream down into turn 4, if it finished now, this would be brilliant for the Championship, unless you’re Jamie!

    Race Update 2
    1. Downton (Lotus)
    2. Ingram (McLaren)
    3. Graham (Red Bull)
    4. Kingshark (Red Bull)
    5. Chan (Sauber)
    6. Franklin (Lotus)
    7. Varga (Sauber)
    8. Bomeny (Ferrari)
    9. Armos (Force India)
    10. Butler (Mercedes)
    11. Robson (Mercedes)
    12. d’Hazorme (Caterham)
    13. Haddleton (Force India)
    14. Cucamest (Toro Rosso)
    15. Frog (Marussia)
    16. Needham (Toro Rosso)
    17. Hofman (HRT)
    Ret. Widger (McLaren)
    Ret. Morley (Williams)
    Ret. Nykänen (Williams)

Lap 18 – There’s a McLaren pulled off at the side of the track, but I can’t tell who it is. But Downton’s come through in the lead! It must be Ingram! Downton now leads from Widger, who… that can’t be right, Widger was seven seconds behind Graham on that last lap. No, it’s Widger who’s out! Not again, that is shocking luck.

Lap 21 – Chan is flying in the Sauber, fastest lap, and now he’s passed Butler’s Mercedes.

Lap 24 – Nykänen now takes fastest lap as he closes on his teammate, but he’s locked up into turn 1 and gone to the inside, there’s no avoiding this! He’s collided with his teammate Morley, and both Williams’ are out of the race.

Lap 27 – Franklin tries to re-pass Varga, but he’s made a mistake. Varga has avoided a mistake, but gone miles off-track. Chan passes both of them to move into 5th, while Franklin remains 6th, in a Sauber sandwich.

Can we get both Force Indias in the points in India?

Probably not with our dog of a car #PaulDiRestaAnalysis

    @juan-pablo-heidfeld-1 @alfie
You guys are just like Raikonnen and Montoya in 2005. A bloody quick car but terrible reliability.. really unlucky Alfie.. I’m just hoping for a solid points finish :)

    Race Update 3
    1. Downton (Lotus)
    2. Ingram (McLaren)
    3. Graham (Red Bull)
    4. Kingshark (Red Bull)
    5. Chan (Sauber)
    6. Bomeny (Ferrari)
    7. Butler (Mercedes)
    8. Franklin (Lotus)
    9. Varga (Sauber)
    10. Robson (Mercedes)
    11. d’Hazorme (Caterham)
    12. Haddleton (Force India)
    13. Cucamest (Toro Rosso)
    14. Frog (Marussia)
    15. Hofman (HRT)
    Ret. Armos (Force India)
    Ret. Needham (Toro Rosso)

Lap 34 – Oh, there’s a Force India heavily in the wall just after the penultimate corner, it’s Armos! He was up into sixth, what a blow for Force India.

Lap 37 – Bomeny and Butler flying out here, joint fastest lap! On that last lap they were two seconds quicker than anyone else.

Lap 39 – Bomeny and Butler on the back of Varga now, a three car fight for 7th! Down the long straight, Bomeny pulls to the left, Butler to the right, and they totally mug Varga! Down to 9th in one foul swoop.

Lap 43 – Bomeny and Butler are a duo at the moment! All over the back of Championship leader Franklin now, and they pull out of the slipstream and use the same move as on Varga! They’re up to 6th and 7th now, can they catch Chan and the Red Bull’s?

Lap 44 – Needham has pulled into the pits reporting a Gearbox issue. At least that explains why he dropped behind Frog’s Marussia.

    Race Result
    1. Downton (Lotus)
    2. Ingram (McLaren)
    3. Kingshark (Red Bull)
    4. Graham (Red Bull)
    5. Chan (Sauber)
    6. Bomeny (Ferrari)
    7. Butler (Mercedes)
    8. Varga (Sauber)
    9. Franklin (Lotus)
    10. Robson (Mercedes)
    11. d’Hazorme (Caterham)
    12. Cucamest (Toro Rosso)
    13. Frog (Marussia)
    14. Hofman (HRT)
    Ret. Haddleton (Force India)

Lap 49 – Oh, there’s another car off in the wall, that’s the second Force India of Haddleton! They are going to have one hell of a repair bill after this race!

Lap 53 – Franklin’s been setting some slow laps, he’s reporting on the radio that he’s lost sixth gear, this could be costly.

Lap 58 – Apparently tactics are coming into play at Red Bull, Graham clearly slows to let Kingshark through onto the Podium.

Lap 59 – Franklin’s holding on out there, but he’s lost 8th to Varga’s Sauber. It’s a good job he has a 20 second gap back to Robson, and only two laps left.

Lap 60 – Downton crosses the line to take his second consecutive win and third win overall, giving him the lead of the Championship. Ingram follows him home in second with Kingshark taking the final spot in 3rd. Championship Leader Franklin finishes 9th, and loses his Championship lead, he must be gutted.
