Q2 Results – Downton’s hopes take a down-turn
Felipe Bomeny continued to set the pace in the second session, showing that the Ferrari clearly has front-running pace this weekend. Tom Robson went one better and claimed second, not far from the Ferrari as he looks for the Silver Arrow’s first victory this season. Ingram fared a little better in third, but he was followed closely by Hollis Graham.
Johnny Kingshark, the nearest to the Lotuses fell down the order to 8th, one place behind Jamie Franklin, who despite his poor performances in both practice sessions, has grit his teeth and pulled the Lotus along.
However, the biggest shock came from Bradley Downton’s Lotus, which not only failed to make it into Q3, but was all the way down in 16th place, just ahead of d’Hazorme’s Caterham.
“I’m so disappointed,” Said Downton after getting out of the car. “I was heading into this weekend really confident that I, and the car, could perform. This is far from what I imagined this weekend would go. I know it’s not over yet, but I’ll need a lot of luck to come out on top in the race,”
