Thank you all! Here’s my post-race statement, I suppose: “For sure, I came into the final race with the expectation I could challenge for the title but it seemed like a faint possibility. Q3 was bittersweet because it denied me of any pole positions for the season, but it put me ahead of my rivals. Of course, I lost the advantage to Ingram and I was thinking, “Is this it?” Eventually, I also slipped behind the Red Bulls but I was focusing on my race. Obviously the championship situation was looming in my mind as I drove, but I tried to shrug it off. Afterwards, Ingram was out and the guys in front of me got tangled in the oil slick. From then on, it was smooth sailing to the title! For sure, this result is fantastic considering our car has not been on pole once, not even with Rob. But the good folk at Maranello built a consistent points and soon after, collecting top fives on Sundays became the strategy- it certainly paid off! I’d definitely like to thank the Scuderia and Rob for their support of my unlikely title bid. Also, the other 22 drivers provided a terrific challenge. In addition, I’d like to thank the race organizers for their hard work and dedication every grand prix- I think the fans received a great show!”
