    Yes, Q2! Wasn’t expecting that.

    Q2 – Both Pagani’s make Top 10
    11. Gilbert (Marussia)
    12. Varga (McLaren)
    13. Butler (Spyker)
    14. Robson (Red Bull)
    15. Widger (Spyker)
    16. Ingram (Williams)
    17. Cucamest (Caterham)
    18. Sunderland (Mercedes)
    19. Needham (Caterham)

In Q2 the wet weather continued to surprise the big teams as Williams, Red Bull and McLaren were all denied a car in the top 10. Both Caterham’s and Spyker’s fell while Mercedes lost Sunderland and Gilbert just missed out on the top 10, 1 tenth behind Chan’s Sauber. Nykänen finished fastest with Downton close behind in second. Peacock also made the top 10 in only Pagani’s second race.

Definitely a bit mixed up so far. Good gamble from Pagani so far as well!

Q3 – Lotus steals pole from Pagani
The final session saw Pagani looking set to take pole, with Downton going quickest for most of the session, but it was Juho who stole the show at the end, taking pole by three tenths of a second from the Pagani driver.
Franklin’s Lotus didn’t fare quite as well, admitting to making a mistake in sector two. “I was on a pretty quick lap, but I took too much kerb on that bastard triple chicane and almost lost the car altogether. I don’t think pole was ever in the cards for me, but I think I could have been up there with Bomeny,”
Infiniti were the other surprise, in 6th and 8th, whilst Sauber prove that their car is great in all conditions.

    1. Nykänen (Lotus)
    2. Downton (Pagani)
    3. d’Hazorme (Sauber)
    4. Bomeny (Ferrari)
    5. Armos (Mercedes)
    6. Hofman (Infiniti)
    7. Chan (Sauber)
    8. Czaczyk (Infiniti)
    9. Franklin (Lotus)
    10. Peacock (Pagani)

Looks like I’m terrible in the dry and the wet. I’ll be cheering on my teammate @formula-1 in the race, though.

    Race Update 1
    1. d’Hazorme (Sauber)
    2. Nykänen (Lotus)
    3. Downton (Pagani)
    4. Armos (Mercedes)
    5. Bomeny (Ferrari)
    6. Chan (Sauber)
    7. Hofman (Infiniti)
    8. Peacock (Pagani)
    9. Czaczyk (Infiniti)
    10. Franklin (Lotus)
    11. Butler (Spyker)
    12. Robson (Red Bull)
    13. Widger (Spyker)
    14. Sunderland (Mercedes)
    15. Cucamest (Caterham)
    16. Morley (McLaren)
    17. Eberhart (Mallya)
    18. Needham (Caterham)
    19. Graham (Red Bull)
    20. Frog (Marussia)
    21. Mathershaw (Ferrari)
    22. Kirkham (Ford)
    23. Bakhtiari (Mallya)
    24. Haddleton (Ford)
    Ret. Gibert (Marussia)
    Ret. Varga (McLaren)
    Ret. Ingram (Williams)
    Ret. Kingshark (Williams)

The Sauber of d’Hazorme gets off to a great start, following on from the Sauber’s pace in Australia, he could be a threat for victory, as Bradley Downton and Juho Nykänen move down to second and third.
Franklin, continues his run of poor starts, falling to 10th, with his last season title rival, Felipe Bomeny following suit, losing out to the Mercedes of Kaz Armos.
Alfie Widger has a surprising run of overtakes in the new Spyker, making his way up to 13th, desperately hoping to hold out and finish the race, I’m sure.
The Williams duo have an unfortunate coming together. Kingshark had made an excellent start, but through the Singapore sling, he lost control and rammed into the side of his team mate, ending both of their races immediately.
The McLaren of Peter Varga suffers an unfortunate fuel pump issue, ending his race as well, whilst the Marussia of Gilbert comes to a halt in the run off error at the hairpin…not sure why.
