Lotus driver, Juho Nykänen takes the win, ahead of Sauber’s d’Hazorme, and surprisingly, the Mercedes of Kaz Armos! Our Champion takes fourth, with Jackie Chan fifth.
Franklin takes 6th, with a few slow laps at the end, in which he stated he had ‘given up’ with Chan over 30 seconds ahead in the remaining laps and that he would need to focus on getting his wet weather and race starts sorted.
Bradley Downton was able to recover to 7th.
” I’m delighted with seventh, but I think we could have been higher. I lost a lot of time in the third stint where the car just didn’t work, but come the final stint it came back on song. I was catching Jamie so much in the final few laps, even as much as two seconds in the final two, and to finish just a second behind him, it’s gutting. I am delighted with seventh however, and good points. I really didn’t expect that in our second race,”
Unfortunately, the Red Bull of Graham retires with an alternator failure, and even worse, Shane Butler retires from 10th place!
