Hopefully I’ll climb a few positions! Fifth is alright but I expect better.

    Race Update 2
    1. d’Hazorme (Sauber)
    2. Nykänen (Lotus)
    3. Downton (Pagani)
    4. Armos (Mercedes)
    5. Chan (Sauber)
    6. Hofman (Infiniti)
    7. Bomeny (Ferrari)
    8. Peacock (Pagani)
    9. Butler (Spyker)
    10. Franklin (Lotus)
    11. Czaczyk (Infiniti)
    12. Robson (Red Bull)
    13. Widger (Spyker)
    14. Sunderland (Mercedes)
    15. Morley (McLaren)
    16. Eberhart (Mallya)
    17. Cucamest (Caterham)
    18. Graham (Red Bull)
    19. Mathershaw (Ferrari)
    20. Needham (Caterham)
    21. Bakhtiari (Mallya)
    22. Kirkham (Ford)
    23. Haddleton (Ford)
    Ret. Frog (Marussia)

Shane Butler up two again, now into 9th as he looks to give Spyker their first points. Widger isn’t looking too bad either, but can he emulate his team mate’s progress? This has forced both the Infiniti and the Lotus of Franklin to fall a place though, just as Jamie thought he was making progress…
The second Marussia retires now, in a strikingly similar display at the same corner. He was lucky not to hit his team mate’s car!
Downton could be in trouble now, his pace is starting to fall off now, as is Peacock’s. Could this be a weakness of the Pagani?

Wow – Spyker, Infiniti and Pagani in the points! Impressive performance by Downton in third place. I see Alfie is yet to retire from this race ;)

@andae23 I guess the Sauber’s base wet stat is really high.

@brazil2007 yes, that… or I’m just a very gifted driver. I don’t want to sound smug or anything, but I think it’s the latter one :P

    Race Update 3
    1. Nykänen (Lotus)
    2. d’Hazorme (Sauber)
    3. Chan (Sauber)
    4. Bomeny (Ferrari)
    5. Armos (Mercedes)
    6. Franklin (Lotus)
    7. Hofman (Infiniti)
    8. Downton (Pagani)
    9. Peacock (Pagani)
    10. Robson (Red Bull)
    11. Widger (Spyker)
    12. Czaczyk (Infiniti)
    13. Butler (Spyker)
    14. Mathershaw (Ferrari)
    15. Graham (Red Bull)
    16. Needham (Caterham)
    17. Cucamest (Caterham)
    18. Sunderland (Mercedes)
    19. Eberhart (Mallya)
    20. Bakhtiari (Mallya)
    21. Haddleton (Ford)
    22. Kirkham (Ford)
    Ret. Morley (McLaren)

Looks like I was right. The Pagani duo are really struggling now, losing time hand over fist to their competitors. Bradley Downton drops from a great third place all the way down to 9th. Peacock isn’t quite as unlucky, only falling to 9th. Conversely, the Lotuses have picked up in pace, with Juho taking the lead of the GP from the Sauber, and Jamie moving up from 10th to 6th!
Shane Butler experiences troubles as well, losing all the progress he had made, though Widger hangs around the edge of the points in 11th.
The Red Bull of Tom Robson is able to get into the points, just behind the Pagani duo. Most would have to bet that it won’t be long before he can pass them, surely.
Nic Morley has a gearbox issue, and is forced to retire. I think Alfie Widger will be glad at leaving the team now.
Champion Felipe Bomeny makes progress as well, now up into 4th! Could he challenge for a podium in the final stages of the GP?

What the hell just happened to Stefan?

@brazil2007 I’m doing that on purpose – for the dramatic effect, when I pass him at the very last corner of the race ;)

    Race Result
    1. Nykänen (Lotus)
    2. d’Hazorme (Sauber)
    3. Armos (Mercedes)
    4. Bomeny (Ferrari)
    5. Chan (Sauber)
    6. Franklin (Lotus)
    7. Downton (Pagani)
    8. Hofman (Infiniti)
    9. Robson (Red Bull)
    10. Peacock (Pagani)
    11. Mathershaw (Ferrari)
    12. Widger (Spyker)
    13. Czaczyk (Infiniti)
    14. Sunderland (Mercedes)
    15. Needham (Caterham)
    16. Cucamest (Caterham)
    17. Eberhart (Mallya)
    18. Bakhtiari (Mallya)
    19. Kirkham (Ford)
    Ret. Butler (Spyker)
    Ret. Graham (Red Bull)
    Ret. Haddleton (Ford)

Lotus driver, Juho Nykänen takes the win, ahead of Sauber’s d’Hazorme, and surprisingly, the Mercedes of Kaz Armos! Our Champion takes fourth, with Jackie Chan fifth.
Franklin takes 6th, with a few slow laps at the end, in which he stated he had ‘given up’ with Chan over 30 seconds ahead in the remaining laps and that he would need to focus on getting his wet weather and race starts sorted.
Bradley Downton was able to recover to 7th.
” I’m delighted with seventh, but I think we could have been higher. I lost a lot of time in the third stint where the car just didn’t work, but come the final stint it came back on song. I was catching Jamie so much in the final few laps, even as much as two seconds in the final two, and to finish just a second behind him, it’s gutting. I am delighted with seventh however, and good points. I really didn’t expect that in our second race,”
Unfortunately, the Red Bull of Graham retires with an alternator failure, and even worse, Shane Butler retires from 10th place!
