Shanghai Preview
The third race of the season takes place in Shanghai, China. A race, which in the past has thrown up many different winners, passing along the opportunity for success to a new driver each year. Though the weather is not quite as potent as that of Malaysia, there still stands a chance of having yet another rain-soaked weekend.
The time spent on throttle exceeds that of both Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur, and so offers the chance for cars with better top speed to stretch their legs on one of the longest straights of the season. Each year, the teams have to trade off between the high downforce section of sector 2, and the long straight, and slow, tight corners of sector 3.
It would be foolish to suggest that Hollis Graham and William Ingram won’t lock horns once again, as they battle for the Championship lead in the early stages of the season. We shouldn’t overlook some other contenders though. That of the Ferrari drivers, Butch Coolidge, Jackie Chan, Johnny Kingshark and Alfie Widger. With a little more luck, any one of those could be in the mix. It will be another exciting and enthralling instalment!
