That’s what I’m talking about! Shame I won’t be in the McLaren for my home GP, but go @alfie!

    Mexican Grand Prix Preview
Formula One returns to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit in Mexico for the first time in 21 years, and boy are the drivers looking forward to the challenge.
‘I really can’t wait to drive the track, it looks fantastic!’ commented Lotuses Downton.
Teammate Franklin agreed ‘The circuit looks quick and challenging, but there are also overtaking spots, I can’t wait to get in the car.’
With dry weather normally in Mexico it would be a surprise to see any of the rain that has affected every weekend this season so far except Spain, but stranger things have happened.
The DRS zones have been confirmed for the main straight and the Recta Trasera straight meaning plenty of overtaking opportunities into turn’s 1 & 4, and hopefully lots of great racing.
As an additional note, Matthijs Hofman and Alfie Widger swap back to HRT and McLaren respectively after Hofman’s win last time out in Canada.

    Laps: 69
    Chance of Rain: 10%

Favorite Tracks: Widger (McLaren), Morley (Williams)

    Weather Report
    Free Practice 1: Wet
    Free Practice 2: Dry
    Qualifying: Dry
    Race: Dry

Alfie’s favourite circuit? Looks like HRT and McLaren will be trading again :)

  • Profile picture of Matthijs Matthijs said 5 months, 1 week ago:

@brazil2007 It’s a conspiracy from McLaren. First Alfie wins at one of his favourite tracks (Monaco), than we swap so that I can win at one of my favourites (Melbourne), then Alfie can win Mexico (which happens to be one of his favourites), than I win Holland (my home GP and favourite), then Alfie can drive for his home crowd in the McLaren (Silverstone). And at the end McLaren wins the constructor’s championship…

@matthijs Ah, but that doesn’t take into account Lotus’ top secret agenda for winning everything without anyone noticing ;)

On another note, Non-Brits made up 15 points last race, with the standings now at 329-277.

Kevin Cucamest ended a run of 13th places.
Only 4 drivers have completed every race of the season, 5 if Shane Butler’s classfied 20th is included.
McLaren have now won 3 different races with 3 different drivers.
Ollie has retired the most, with 5 retirements. Marussia have always had one car not finish the race, and are tied with Sauber for most retirements at 6. Ferrari, however, have always had two cars cross the line.

Non-Brits have only won from pole – Ingram, Australia; Kingshark, China; Hofman, Canada.
Brits have never won from pole – Hollis Graham gained the only pole for Brits in Spain, but only managed 3rd.

Haddleton is currently best Ben after his 4th place finish.

Excluding Canada, d’Hazorme has always been best Dutchman.

Yeah, I was ill at the Canadian GP -cough, cough-

    Great stats @Alfie :)
Here’s another: Lotus have been on the podium at every GP since the double retirement in Melbourne. A run of 5 successive podiums, which included a double in Spain. The highest team before the Canadian GP was Red Bull, who had a run of 4 successive podiums from Melbourne to Spain.

@RagingInferno – Haha! You’re right ;) We let people win the Grand Prix, but sneakily take the podiums until I eventually lead the Championship…as I currently do :P
