@bradley13, it’s a good idea as running something like this can be very time consuming;l I know myself as I always’ don’t have time updating stuff etc. In saying that you and @JamieFranklinF1 have done such a great job of running the game, it is always very professional and easy to follow. I hope you guys are running this game for a fair while yet! Good job, really enjoying it so far!

Unfortunately my mid season break consists of a Physics exam, a Maths exam and a Geography project, along with learning A Tale of Two Cities off by heart – I think the break is at a good time :P

@bradley13 @jamiefranklinf1 you both run this so seamlessly, there is no searching pages of the forum for previous results as it is all on the wiki, and I think you deserve a pat on the back :) this season f1, next season every championship in the world! :P

    Hungarian Grand Prix Preview
Following a pro-longed mid-season break (basically Winter Break if you’re living in the UK!), the Random Forum Championship is back with a bang this evening. Originally due to be held on Thursday 17th January the Hungarian Grand Prix was called off due to impending snow, and boy did the weather deliver. The Grand Prix was therefore postponed until after the mid-season break but now we are at that point, the track has been cleared and all snowfall removed so the race can get under way tonight!
We re-join the Championship at exactly the halfway point with ten races run and ten races still to do. We come off the back of our first repeat winner in Germany (Jamie Franklin) who finally broke the run of nine different consecutive race winners. He now leads the Championship from William Ingram and Robert Mathershaw, who seem to have ever so slightly broken away from the rest of the field, but I am predicting nothing as we have seen so far this year, anything can happen! (I mean, the Hungarian Grand Prix being snowed off?! Who’d have thought it?!). With just three European races left teams will be wanting to bank a ton of points before we once again fly oversea’s.

Widger Tops FP1 as F1 Returns
As Formula One finally got underway in Hungary following the snow delay it was Alfie Widger of McLaren who took the top spot in the opening dry practice session. Franklin took second for Lotus with Chan in a fantastic third place for Sauber followed by the two Red Bull’s. Sunderland pulled his Caterham into the top 10 while Downton and Ingram struggled to 13th & 14th respectively. Frog perofrmed well for Marussia, managing 16th while Shane Butler suffered mechanical problems early on in his Mercedes meaning he didn’t get much running.

Just as a note guys, this will be the first and only thing uploaded to the Wiki tonight because the way you edit things on the page has changed. I am not sure if this is just temporary or whether they’ve changed it, but I shall check tomorrow and upload either way.

    Out in Q1
Despite looking good before the season break, d’Hazorme for Caterham struggled, and couldn’t make it out of the first session, even though he had made it into the top 10 in practice. We couldn’t get him to comment, but he’s surely disappointed with that. Morley joined him, in the Williams, with the HRTs and Marussias. The wet weather was definitely effecting a lot of cars.

    Out in Q2
Another wet session, but the big surprise was the Ferrari drivers. Despite them being strong in the past in these sorts of conditions, both fell out in Q2, joined by another shock result – Alfie Widger. The Caterham of Sunderland was somehow able to wrestle his car into the top 10 in the final stages.

    Qualifying Results
In a topsy turvy pole position shoot-out, Franklin took the top spot with an outstanding pole lap in the final stages of the session. Shane Butler led the way early on, half a second quicker than anyone else. However, the Sauber of Varga quickly decided to show his pace and stole the spot, before losing out to the Lotus. Ingram struggled in the other McLaren, proving that McLaren seem to have lost their way during the mid-season break.

    21. Hofman (HRT)
    22. Peacock (Marussia)
    23. Frog (Marussia)
    24. Kirkham (HRT)

Lap 1 – Graham gets a fantastic start from the grid, leaving the others for dust as he takes second place going into turn 1. Brilliant!
Lap 1 – Kingshark gets a good start too, moving up the inside of Downton going down into turn 2!
Lap 2 – Ingram has been close all of the first lap, and shoots down the inside of the Mercedes, moving him to 8th.
Lap 4 – Widger makes a move on Mathershaw through turn 4! Very brave indeed.
Lap 6 – Widger again, the inside of turn 4 passed the Caterham of Sunderland. Sunderland then goes wide, letting Mathershaw through. Two places in one turn…

    Race Update 2

    21. Frog (Marussia)
    22. Kirkham (HRT)
    23. Hofman (HRT)
    Ret. Mathershaw (Ferrari)

Lap 17 – Ingram around the outside of Chan through turn 2! Up into 7th. The McLaren certainly looks a lot better than it was in Qualifying.
Lap 19 – Varga isn’t giving up second lying down. He has just out-braked Graham into the penultimate corner, and re-takes what he must feel is rightfully his.
Lap 22 – Ingram again, he’s now caught up to Downton. Can he continue his charge?
Lap 24 – He sure can! That’s the McLaren through into 6th, with the help of DRS!
Lap 30 – Oh no! That’s Mathershaw pulling off of turn 2, he’s out of the race. Not sure what the problem was there.
