Abu Dhabi Pre-Race Interview: Silverkeg – Force India
We are coming up to your second race now, How are you finding The Collantine Cup?
It is great, there seems to be a great respect and rapport between the drivers, as well as strong rivalry. I feel I am welcome and look forward to the races.
How do you think your debut race went?
I was quite happy with my performance. My pace wasn’t great but I had a good race and a bit of luck and got a result that I was extremely pleased with. My qualifying however was truly dreadful and I may have been a bit cautious, so these are areas I need to work on.
You were both ‘Best Rookie” and ‘Best Single Driver Team’ in Australia, Is this your goal for Abu Dhabi.
I will admit it felt great to get these achievements and I would certainly like to replicate them in Abu Dhabi but I must aim for more, I need to try and get on pace with the experienced guys soon.
Abu Dhabi is our next location, How do you find racing there?
I haven’t raced there too much at all so I fear I may struggle a bit. I don’t have a great set-up prepared at the moment so I will be working hard to find one that works for me. As a track I don’t enjoy Abu Dhabi as much as others, but look forward to putting my best in.
As you said earlier, you were the highest placed single car team at Australia, do you feel this is a disadvantage to you?
Not particuarly a disadvantage. It would be good to be able to compare set-ups but that is the only downside I feel and I certainly don’t see it as any excuse not to outperform anyone
