Sorry for the quality, or lack thereof. Also sorry about the text, I can’t change the text colour, and the silver Mercedes makes parts of it hard to read. And sorry for missing a few apexes, as you can see, I’m terrible at the track.

@riise Next race is Malaysia, the calendar is on the first page which shouldn’t take too much effort to go onto ;)

The whole David is a number two driver was a joke, I’m not like Alonso :). With Electrolite, I’m not blaming him or anything, but he did technically turn into me. I understand he couldn’t have done much else however, so it is just a racing incident.

EDIT: I’ve just realised how late I was on the brakes, I guess the incident was more my fault, but it’s tough to say.

It was just a racing incident and it’s certainly not worth worrying about, I just wanted to make sure you weren’t blaming Electrolite.

I’m glad you were joking, but it’s difficult to tell and I wouldn’t want David thinking you’re being unfriendly! :)

@Silverkeg No, I didn’t. But that was mainly due to the fact I didn’t overtake anyone through being slower than everyone!

Here’s a quick guide to starts made by @iamsa8:

Qualifying – 5th
I did a three lap run to begin with which put me fourth for most of the session. I did hot laps at the end and was fourth until the leaderboard came up to show that Jonny got ahead, so I started fifth.

Race – Errm… 7th or 8th I think
I started okay, through the first corner everything looked okay until someone hit me from behind, annoyingly I got a penalty for being hit from behind. After that I was something like 8th or 9th behind Damon. Damon tried to pass the McLaren (I forget who drives it), but instead had a collision with him. I then passed him, but later I understeered of the track at turn 11 and Damon got back past. Later Mag ran into Jonny and Damon and I made up two places from Mag and Jonny, Damon just got going before I could pass him.

After that I was consistently two seconds ahead of Mag for a few laps until I messed up the first few corners, Mag closed in and later on tried to pass me with DRS, be could get around the outside of me around turn one. I was able to increase the gap again until later I messed up the first few corners again, and I had Mag on my tail again. Mag again tried to pass me on the outside of turn one, but I didn’t want to let him take the inside for turn two, so I tried to run him as wide as possible as fair as possible.

Eletrolite exited the pits behind Mag and I and joined our battle. Electrolite got ahead of Mag (Mag let him through I suspect), and I had to try and fend him as well as Mag off. Electrolite tried to pass me at turn 9, I didn’t realise however that I was turning into him (sorry) until just before the exit of the corner, so I gave Electrolite more space. Electrolite tried again later on to pass me at turn nine, I gave him room for the whole, but I had the line for 10 and 11 so I stayed ahead. Mag pitted, and Electrolite got ahead I think at turn one. I stayed with Electrolite for two more laps, I was able to pressure him into a mistake at the final corner and I got past again. I pitted on the next lap, Mag just got ahead of me as I forgot to pit a lap earlier as I was distracted by my battle with Electrolite, even though we wern’t really racing for position. After I’d pitted, I realised that Jonny was about 10 seconds behind, so I desparately tried to keep him at least 10 seconds behind. However I made a mistake at the penultimate corner on the final lap, and I lost my postion through a stupid penalty.

My pace was okay and I may have been able to fight for fourth or maybe third, however my battle with the Saubers and my penalty lost me a hell of a lot of time. My battle with the Sauber lost me about ten seconds on Damon.

Well done Steve for your victory, and Electrolite for his first podium.

I did try to record my race, but the footage corrupted, so unfortunately there will be no video from me for this race :’(.

Qualifying – 2nd
Race – 3rd

Whilst not being totally impressed by my flying lap in quali (and being blocked by a coasting Williams on my second try) I somehow managed to muster 2nd on the grid.

Below is my first video. It only captures the first half of the race as my camera memory ran out. My first lap really was terrible watching back, and the rest of the footage is fairly boring. And I apologise for the constant looking behind me…no idea I did that so much.

Oh, and be aware, it gets loud at one point. And quality’s rubbish.

Within a couple of laps of the above, Ed started to drive, well, really fast. And with my rubber wearing thin, he passed me fairly easily, I could get on with my race. I pitted around lap 13, and came out JUST behind my teammate and slr. With all due respect I was much quicker, and I knew if I wanted to challenge Ed after he pitted I’d have to get the passes over and done with. But I really couldnt get past slr, who defended well (I had to get slightly aggressive at one point) and this was frustrating as we were both doing different races!

Once I had finally got past, Ed had pitted and remained in front of me, but Damon had managed to close in whilst I had been battling. And Shyguy was behind him. Although my tyres were shot, I was completely determined not to relinquish my first podium, and although Damon got me on the last lap (with a bit of a shunt into the gravel, but we’ll wait for your video), he had +20 on his time.

And thus, I got my first podium at last.

I don’t know the CollantineCup channel details by the way! So I made my own account.
