I really hope the Aus Open final is over before the start of this. Haven’t had much practice either.

Guys, just as a warning there’s a chance I will not be able to race tomorrow. Unfortunately I can’t say at this stage whether I definitely will or won’t or even if I’ll be around to let you know.

If for whatever reason I fail to appear around 10:55GMT, the race will STILL go ahead, with Damon taking my place as the host and acting as the man in charge. It will be business as usual, in this respect. If Damon is also unavailable, iamsa8 will take on the responsibilities as the host.

Oh no! Who will I frustrate with my defensive driving now? (Presuming that you don’t make it)

@silverkeg That’s a fair point! I’m quite looking forward to this match. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen Djokovic vs Nadal. Should be epic!

Unfortunately something unavoidable has come up and I also won’t be able to race tomorrow. Feels like I’ve hardly raced this season. :(

I’ll be around for tomorrow, but unfortunately, I won’t be around for the next two races, ie. Spa & Marina Bay. I’m out of the country both those weekends. Massive apologies to
@magnificent-geoffrey . This whole event has been a credit to him and everyone who raced in it. I know that I’ve been tootling around at the back of the grid, but it has been super duper fun, and it’s been a pleasure to take part.

I will be back for Silverstone, but I just thought I’d say my piece there now.

Anyway I’ll talk to you all in the morning.
    Cheers you guys.

    Race report

    Qualifying 8th
I first did a stint on the primes but I couldn’t get a good lap time unfortunately. I then did a stint of the options but had traffic on the first lap and hit the wall on my second. I decided to put on another set of options and I did improve my lap time, but then my teammate David outqualified me for the first time! Well done mate.

    Race 6th
At the start, I seemed to be the only person to get spun at turn one, then the McLaren ploughed into me and I was on the backfoot already. Electrolite pitted at the end of lap 1, and Ed had an incident so I got ahead. David who missed the start because someone pressed go without waiting for him to be ready, got past me after I had pitted on lap 6 for primes. David was being held up by Ads, which let catch up quickly. I went for a double overtake at turn 1, I got past David but made contact with Ads and spun. Ads was still holding up David which let me catch up again. I passed David again, and then tried to pass Ads through the tunnel, we were side by side but Ads didn’t give me room and squeezed me into the inside barrier and we crashed, David got caught up in the crash also I believe. I quickly repassed my teammate again, and finally passed Ads at the Tabac corner if I recall correctly.

I then caught Spud and Supernicebob, Spud had a incident and I got past, I was then stuck behind Bob for lap after lap. He then gave into the pressure and went off a Saint Devote and I was past. After that however I was really struggling on my primes which were quickly wearing out. Ed was trying to find a way past me, as I struggled out of the hairpin Ed hit me at turn 7 and was past. He quickly pulled away as I was struggling really bad on my tyres.

I finally pitted on lap 18, I left the pit lane to find David once again ahead of me, however he was on options, so I was sure he couldn’t go to the end without pitting. I chose to not to take any risks overtaking him, out of the final corner I got good traction and passed David with DRS into turn one. Electrolite was then behind me but couldn’t pass me. However into Mirabeu, I braked too early, Electrolite hit me and passed me. He pitted later on whilst I was going straight to the end. In the closing laps, I was really struggling on my worn tyres, however Damon came to lap me which meant I could do a lap less on my tyres, Mag also lapped me. Electrolite was biting into my lead over him, but ran out of laps as I finished 6th.

Generally I think I could have had a better result today if I wasn’t caught up in so many incidents. However I was struggling really badly on my tyre at the end of all my stints. Considering how everything went, 6th was probably a good result.

Well done to Damon for his first win this season, and also to David who was really competitive today, even though he missed the start. Hopefully David will continue to be competitive in future races.

I actually felt bad for Mag today because a lot of things went wrong today which he had to deal with. In qualifying, the Australians lost their connnection so we restarted. When we restarted Supernicebob wasn’t there, Mag noticed this before, but everyone else pressed go anyway. So we had to restart again. Then before the race, Mag instructed us to say when were ready, but not to press go, someone pressed go before David could say he wasn’t ready. Mag seemed to be a bit peeved at that. Mag had to deal with a lot of problems today, but he dealt them well and well done to him for that.

EDIT: I forgot to record the race today which I’m really sorry about.

Errm Mag, Williams have 34 points and are fifth rather than fourth.
